@Wayne-Thomas Im putting this bot back into production to lay HT score. Just wondering... if I only wanted to lay 0-0, 0-1, 1-0 or 1-1 would it be as simple as deleting all the other rules that arent those scores?

@Patrik-Mellqvist ok so you have completely different filters that is why the selections you expect are not showing.

'H2 over 0.5' means over 0.5 in the second half (either team in the match could score)
'Scored' means the specific team would have to have scored, not either team in the match, so much less chance a team scores 60% of the time, than either team scores 20%.

You need to use the same metric for both filters if you want to get the matches pop up on both. So for example you can choose 'Home' 'Scored in H2' rather than 'H2 over 0.5'.

ChatGPT is great, but I couldn't disagree more about not needing prior knowledge, especially when it comes to anything to do with figures, stats, programming etc.

The hallucination problem is pretty severe at the moment. Regarding programming, it will basically make up code that doesn't work. If you ask it for football results, it can make up incorrect scores, and if you give it a maths challenge it will fail at basic maths, especially where algebra is concerned.

It does this because it's just trying to give an answer that "feels right" linguistically.

So be careful!

Okay Adam I understand and I notice errors in that area and double check and repeat task with modifications and very clear instructions - reason to my conclusion is that I have tested your Ranking System with your games and same with Pouncebet and there PBI and my values match.

'Home (or away)' 'Percentage' 'League % from Top'

Then when you select % I would go for 'less than' then choose what position you want then to be.

So for example if I want to see 'top half home teams'

@Patrik-Mellqvist if you are testing a strategy you can rename the columns in your spreadsheet and download the strategy individually if that makes it easier.

I just export all then add selections to different pages on my mastersheet, like I say once it's renamed once you are sorted and now all I do is copy over data each day, don't have to worry about column names.

@Patrik-Mellqvist I knew a trader who did very well trading this time period as well in matches, just to add to this chat.

His goal was to make £10 a day and he ended up making a lot more than that.

Also, the odds you're taking are obviously the major contributor to the profit or loss you're making, so if you've determined what odds you need and they're not there, skip that trade or place a speculative bet at the odds you want and hope they come within your threshold!

I reckon there are different ways to develop and work the playing model.
When you are in the stock market you have certain tools to test your idea or approach.
Stock traders use simulation software to test their trading model on fictive but realistic price movements that are identical to real-world data.
That way they don’t waste learning money or take unnecessary risks.
You can also find trading angles that give a long-term positive return on investment.

And today I made a decision.
I will use some out-of-the-box proven-to-work solutions that are being offered.
And develop my own on various statistical assumptions.

I like the idea of Richard’s method. I will turnaround and develop value or what I estimate and decide to have true value after some raw testing with around 500 placed trades into simulation software.
And the high light is a raw test and now is the time to fine-tune and tailor the trading approach and do another 500 placed trades into the simulation software.

Want to make a point here, that creating a painting requires good basic and introduction preparation to get and good and solid final result.
So the preparation process is crucial before starting the time-consuming simulation process.

First I play around with some parameters and have to solve some trading angles to get the most out of the simulation process.
I use TIME VALUE and not COMBACK VALUE but in the end both are the same thing and equally effective based on my raw test simulation that gave me a true edge.
So the part I will explore now before continuing this topic is the relay part and where to best get value if the score goes 1-2 after the U-dog has been leading by +2 goals.
I see it as a second change to an very low price and that screams risk mitigation and I love that word.

Use the "Scored in...." / "Conceded in..." stats instead of the goal times, e.g.:

This will give you the number of matches with a goal, instead of the total goals.

@Patrik-Mellqvist I tend to agree with Adam, but I think as long as you're consistent in your approach and only take all trades/bets provided at a set time each day, then you wont go far wrong. The issue comes when you're checking for an updated set of trades every hour and notice new ones popping up and old ones disappearing. That's my view anyway, for what it's worth!

@GREGORIOS-KARASHIALIS you could look for strong ELO teams that score lots of first half goals? You won't get any filter that 'always' home team goes 1-0 up but you may get one that does it often.

I cannot sadly as I stopped trading that strategy, the reason being is that I went all in on automation and turned off everything else.

So I wish I could help but I haven't tracked it. But I like the thinking that you have there, that's key to becoming a profitable trader taking an idea and putting your own spin on it!

You will be able to backtest that when the footie backtesting is done! 😄
