@ross-love This sounds like you might not be placing the bets fully

    I don't know for sure if it is this, but this has come up before, and it doesn't apply to Back The Fav, so this is my hunch lol;

There's two sections for placing the bets: the "Action", which is in blue, and the "Condition(s)" further over at the right, which is in black.

If this is the answer you need, you need to select the horse for each of these options. So for Back C&D, you have to select each horse 4 times, once in blue, and 3 times in black

If it's not that, then just give a shout and I'm sure we'll do our best to help0_1680108128037_Screenshot (13).png

Hi, I was hoping someone could help as I've been trying to figure this out and look through the forum for a while now. I have added the horse racing strategies to fairbot and running them simulation mode but my pace lays and lay the beaten fave lay bets never place, and neither do Back the C&D winners. Back the fave at the off all place though. Is there anything I need to do after adding the strategies as in settings to change in order for these to place or have people simply just added the strategy and then select the horses from the daily email and they work fine? Or should I delete them and start all over again by re adding them? I've added all the races to the daily watch list, selected the strategy and the horse but they just don't place.

@samo use Betfair row 1 (by odds not name) as this will always be the favourite at the time the bot fires. That's not to say the favourite doesn't change in the time between you setting your bot and the race actually starting, but that's quite rare.

    Hi all,

I have a question regarding automation back the favo at the off: do you use betfair row 1 selection or do you use lowest back od as a selection?
to get the favo to back?
    i use fairbot for trading.

    thanks for the reaction

@justinas-puras not that I'm aware of. I think you have to manually select them. If you've got lots of selections you could hit the little star with the plus sign to add that market to your watch list. Then go to your watch list (the star icon) and select all and there's a dropdown option to select your strategy.

It is a bit time-consuming but no more so than any other method. You can also use fairbot 2 days in advance so if you have today and tomorrow's trades but you know you're out tonight or away the following day you can do everything in one go.

There is a quick way to do this and it is possible as long as you have the rules set up correctly.

You can enter the Select Markets option under tools and then filter on football and what ever market you are looking at and then use select all and add all to your watchlist. From there you can select all and assign a strategy to all games.......you'd need to make sure the rules were well tested though or that method could get very expensive

Back when i was testing my bots I would do this in simulation mode to effectively test it on every fixture each day

Just started using bots today. Followed instructions to import bot in to my fairbot simulation. My question is, wouls it be possible to set up a bot to scan all games and automaticaly pick ones with the right criteria? Or do I allways have to select matches manually? Thanks

    good q! @Dan-MacKinnon may know?

@samo Hi Samo In the conditions there is one called 'market unsuspended time' you can set a wait time there. A minute is usually ok unless there is extremely low liquidity.

    Hi BTC

I like the community and the software a lot. Also the set and forget strategy is some thing i realy like and i juse a lot of bot strategie's .

But i have a challange. I have not yet found a solution for it and i hope there is some one here that can help me.

The thing is that i have for example a lay the draw strategie that needs to greep up after a goal is scored. But the green up is so fast that the odds have not settled and i get strange results and it cost me a lot of money. It will match with a way to low odd.
I used bet angel before and there you could chose a waiting time before greening after the market was closed or there was a goal scored. In this way the market could cool down and you can get matched at the right odds and make a profit.

If it is not clear and you need more detailed information of what i mean let me know and i will provide. I can imagine this is some thing a lot of (new) people deal with so maybe interesting to share with the community

is there any one that can help me with this.
    thanks all
    Samo

@stephen-beale an alternative is to set to take BSP rather than Keep though there is a minimum lay liability for BSP.
You also might want to check what price you're placing your lay bet at. If your lay is at current best lay odds then you should get matched but you might be laying higher than necessary. Alternatively lay at current best back price +1 tick and then set to Keep or Take BSP if unmatched

@stephen-beale The persistence to Keep will only reflect on keeping on any trades in play should you place them before the 'off' - in other words if you have a trade entering the market before the off then you will need keep set on for trade not to be dumped at the start of the race if unmatched at that stage.

I had 4 'Lay The Beaten Fav' bets fire but not be matched today (I'm laying to liability so it wasn't too much of a problem, only missed out on £3.50 or so of winnings)

I'm just wondering if there's a way to prevent this from happening, because it seems to happen to me quite often with this strategy

I was wondering about changing the bet persistence to "keep", which I think would mean it would stay in play for much longer

But I'm v much a novice to all this, so any advice or alternative solutions gratefully received!!

I think so Terry, though I maybe wrong. I've got a spare lap top that is left running.
I set mine up today for the first time on automation and I'm not sure yet if it has worked correctly.
A couple of months ago I was running Each Way Snipper Auto but it was far simpler than running betfair bots. The downside was I got gubbed by three of the major bookies! I don't care now, because of the Betfair exchange. 😆 😆 😆

@craig-vaulks When you have set your strategies you do have to stay logged in to fairbot and you also have to leave your computer running.

Hi im new to fairbot automation, just a quick question with regards to saving a strategy to a selected fixture. Each time I log out after selecting a fixture to be automated (the automation word has turned orange). When I log back in the fixtures and strategies are no longer saved. I'm sure it's a simple fix. Just can't figure it out. Could it be due to using the trial version? I used it the other day while watching the fixtures in simulation which worked fine.

@terry-heller Hi Terry, I just use the Snipping tool in windows. Save it to a location and then upload it by pressing the up arrow as below.
