I'm going min stakes on these as it's early days but back-testing has been good for them. The higher odds lays are for those who don't mind that kind of thing!

    1.69-2.20 odds only -

@John-Folan could you advice me on a stop loss in prerace / scalping trade? How many tick do you allow to go to reds and what is your typical profit target in ticks? Thank you.

I usually bail after a couple of ticks the wrong way if I see more money piling up in that direction. I don’t have a set figure tbh. Never have just ride it until I lose my nerve.

@John-Folan noticed that my odds on lays actually do really well on backtesting up until 2.20, may be worth looking into for yours

Thanks Martin. Will look at that. Might have found a good trob strategy. Just fine tuning it πŸ™‚

I hope this is the right place to write.
I have noticed that a markets liquidity on races held in the USA, Australia, basically anywhere outside the UK and IRL is quite poor.

Those markets do not seem to be suitable for pre race scalping, at least my skill level is not sufficient for that.

What do you do? Do you only stick to UK races? I imagine there is a similar exchange based in the USA where those races are actually traded by Americans.
Does anybody know / uses an exchange with high USA markets liquidity?

I only scalp / pre-race trade on UK racing too.

    Hi Josef,

I only use uk races. I don’t even touch Irish. Anything apart from the UK rarely has the right liquidity for good size scalping and the Irish stuff seems a bit off as well.
