Bet Angel Automation Thread

@dave-tancock Can't remember exactly as have stopped using Bet Angel, but you need to display additional Automation columns in the Guardian, you can then allocate a different bot in each column. Think you can have up to 5..
-
Just wanted to check is there a way to use two separate bots on the same race. I can’t see anything obvious on the bet Angel software, just wondering if anyone has made it work?
-
@Tony-Hastie thanks
-
@dave-tancock Open the rule box, click on paramaters and change stake to "By liability(back and lay)" Enter your stake beside it, £5 as an example youll not lose more than £5 and yeah, the lower the odds the higher the profit on a winning trade
-
Apologies if this is a daft question. But on betangel automation is it possible to make the liability the same on a lay strategy. Ie regardless of odds the liability is £5 for example. If it’s possible then presumably lower odds would have a higher profit as the stake on odds at 2 would be higher than if the odds were 5. Assuming I understand this.

@Ryan-Clark Apologies, I couldnt find this thread in the new set up
Ive had a chance to watch the Back the Fav 4.0 bot in action in the last couple of days. And its gone good! A slight hiccup when it backed the wrong horse...but realised Id loaded my previous version! So, thanks @Nathan-Cooke
@Martin is it possible to get some of these recent Bot files added to to the op so they dont get lost in the thread?
-
@Tony-Hastie just noticed Nathan’s reply with his file let me know how you get on
-
@Tony-Hastie I have set a rule up so it will only back if the selection is the favourite, I’ll post it in here when I’m back at my computer later
-
@Nathan-Cooke That sounds exactly what I/we need. Ill test it out tomorrow. Cheers
-
@Tony-Hastie perhaps I'm missing something here but this is my BA file.. I enter the selection into Selection 1.. based on the condition within the file, it will only trigger if the selection is the fav.

@Tony-Hastie What rules or parameters have you changed to accommodate the 4.0 version ?
Ive not changed anything. I simply make sure the nominated favourite is well clear of second. If its not, and I cant check closer to the start I just dont automate it. Im sure youd be able to put in a rule to only back it if its favourite but Im not overly experienced on Bet Angel yet and havent had the time to try...

Ive been running the Back the Fav bot on the 4.0 version and to date its performed perfectly. As Ive previously said, because of the new distance win requirement(or is it course?) I require quite a big degree of separation between 1st and 2nd fav or I dont automate it. Today, I just happened to be home to watch a race and see the bot work and for some bizarre reason it backed the second favourite. Fav went off around 3.5 and the 2nd Fav was 5.8 or something. Am at a loss to explain why. Can anyone shed any light?

@wayne-thomas Thanks Wayne.
When you have sorted it out, would you mind sharing it mate?Hey Tom. I have rigged something up for the O1.5 split stake. Give it a test and let me know how it goes. I have done some testing myself in practise mode and it appears to work but I'd like to test it some more before I go live with it.
It needs to be applied to the O1.5 market. The stakes are set to £10 overall so £5 at 29 and then another £5 at 49. If you change the stakes you will need to change the conditions in the rule named "Green on goal" where the condition is "Trading profit with greening" and set it to 10% of half the overall stake. So in this case it's set at £0.50. Hope that makes sense.
Also, make sure you have set the refresh correctly (advanced tab) within Guardian so that it refreshes long enough for the rules to fire. Made that mistake myself and took me way too long to realise what was happening.
-
@nathan-cooke that seems to be the case, would need to double check , could maybe try changing the time to 0-10 secs after start, but then again is this actual or official start time with bet angel , I’m not sure
-
The favourite moves around so often, my backtesting showed a strategy that would work. Now it’s running live it only matches about 65% of the time (still profitable though), when I go back and check.
-
@nigel I think that's probably because the favourite changed. That's why I never nominate the fav. I just let the automation do it's thing.
At the moment I'm only doing, Back the Favourite and Lay the beaten Favourite. With the LTBF I always select the horse though.
-
@nigel would this be if nominated horse didn't end up the fav, and the fav that went on to win also would of qualified? And I'm assuming, given the way the odds can change, the only way to avoid this would be to check qualifiers regularly throughout the day?
-
@nathan-cooke using fav4 myself, nominated horse if fav, 10 sec from off, just crossed checked software results with my own for may so far , software showing £17.38 profit, mine showing £8.98 profit

@tony-hastie You're most welcome. I've been testing it too and it seems very consistent. Only missing games when there are untimely suspensions or as you say, very low liquidity.
Yep. It will work for the SHG strategy too. Just change the times to suit. If you're laying at HT you can make the time windows a little bigger because the game is effectively paused and that will help to avoid suspensions that stop the rules from firing. Just remember to factor in the first half injury time. I generally allot 3mins for that. Cheers.
