@alexander-hughes @Keith-Driscoll
Thanks both for coming back to me on this one, I will run this through testing today and hopefully will iron out the issues. Appreciate you taking the time.

@George-Bowling What i did was (Betdaq version)
General tab
Rule type - Lay a bet
Arm trigger 10 seconds before start
Applies to selection (In position 3[sorted by fav])
Conditions tab
Nominated (In position 3[sorted by fav])
Fixed odds condition - This selections lay price is greater than 2 (Iirc i used 1.99)
Fixed odds condition - This selections lay price is lower than 7 (Iirc i used 7.1)
Parameters tab
Set stake
Place at 2nd best market price(to avoid not getting matched at last minute)
It only picks 1 horse, 3rd fav, 10 secs out if the odds are in the range.

I have done a bot in testing for lay the 3rd place fav. But given we do not nominate a horse for it, I have had a few instances where the 3rd place fav changes within the last min before the off and the bot has been triggering on both sections. I have put the bot down to trigger just once.... but I am thinking I need to add in another condition on this? Can anyone shed any light?Trigger 1 second after the race starts, that way you hit the 3rd Fav 100% of the time.

I guess what I was looking for was almost a complete separation of the market, so that I could live trade and hedge position but not affect another automated strategy
This is what we are saying you can do. Have we misunderstood what it is you are trying to achieve?

@Rick-Watson @Andrew
Thanks both, this kind of confirms what I thought on it. I get how that would be the case for a dobbing strategy. I guess what I was looking for was almost a complete separation of the market, so that I could live trade and hedge position but not affect another automated strategy, but tbh this is a lot to ask of the software on just one betfair account too! thanks. Also @Andrew the text based approach yesterday worked well across all of my strategies yesterday, great tip and time saver -
You can green any selection on its own via its ladder without it affecting bets on other selections, you dont have to wait for the DOB to match.
-
@George-Bowling hi mate if you are running say a dobbing bot that will green up once target is hit if the automation is set to green that selection it shouldnt effect the live trade . also if you wish to exit live trade while bot is still trying to hit your exit then clicking on the far left of the ladder screen will close your trade for a free bet but not hedge across all selections this will just give you back all your stake/liability you can then hedge across all selections once your target is hit on the automation. hope this helps
-
@Tony-Hastie I hope my automation bots run better than I do on this forum sometimes!
Thanks @Andrew !

@George-Bowling direct your thanks at @Andrew hes the text conditions genius

@Andrew
thanks a lot of the tip on how to manage the daily selections through text conditions, I will be testing this today and all being well should save me a lot of time each morning when setting them up. Really appreciated! -
You can use a text condition in your bot and then just copy and paste in your days selections instead of using nominated selections. Its so much easier. See my post #136

You can run up to 5 on the one guardian by Clicking on list then clicking on the box just below layout on the left. It will give you the option to add columns(if thats what youre asking)
Still have to be careful that the rules dont clash. I guess that will be through trial and error. I find it easier to open BA 3 times and set up up to 3 guardians running at the same time. Even then my lay the 3rd fav bot took the SP(if bet wasnt matched) on a horse that I didnt want it to! Ive since removed that rule.
Then you have to remember which nominated selection box to use. Today I forgot that Ive set my own back the leader bot up to back nominated selection 2...and I put both selections in the nominated 1 box....and they both won!
If theres an easier way I havent found it
-
@George-Bowling as far as I am aware you can run 5+ well you can on BFBM anyway.
Not sure re: Q2 you could always just hedge on that horse individually looking at the side profit next to it rather than the total market one. Possible solution?!
-
@Martin Reasonably new to automation via Bet angel and have been testing a number of bots on the horse racing markets from some of the strategies on here as well as some of my own that I have been forward testing for a few months now. I wanted to know if anyone has any advice on a couple of things:
-
Is it possible and if so what it the best way to run more than 5 bots on the software?
-
What is the best way to manage running bot on the same markets that you live trade in.
As an example If I am running a Dobbing bot on an outsider in the market but swing trading one of the top 4 live on the ladders in the market, when I look to green up this will also remove my dobbing bot position...? Is there a way to separate these out at all?
Any help or advice is appreciated.

You need an extra rule in your bot. Add a new rule, rule type would be keep all unmatched bets and I would get it to fire multiple times just to be sure.
-
@Tony-Hastie will do thanks
-
Try that. It doesnt take the horse age into account, I do that manually...
