Fairbot Automation Discussion

@steven-fletcher Just one more thing Steven. Do the files need to be uploaded daily?
-
@steven-fletcher Thanks Steven.
I think what's confusing me is it tends to pop up in a different window that's behind the window I'm working with. Hence, I don't see it. I really do appreciate your help. I'll spend some time on it tonight. Cheers. -
@steven-fletcher I was just trying to find the right words to explain it but you beat me to it and with pictures too!
One day I must learn how to do that. How to post a screen shot here -

@dan-mackinnon Hi Dan again.
I'm trying to setup Fairbot and it's starting to drive me insane!
Can you tell me where I'm going wrong?- I load up Fairbot.
- Then log into Betfair.
- Click on Simulation.
- Then, click on select markets, which gives me this window...
-
All good, so far. But now, how do I upload the strategy files? (I did managed to upload the strategies yesterday but now, I can't find how to do it again).
-
And once I do upload them, how do I know they are active?
-
I've probably watched hours of videos but I can't find one that explains what I need to know!
-
And, assuming I do manage to get this going, do the files need to be uploaded every morning?
Sorry, if this is a straightforward thing I should be able to figure out, but I'm just going round and round in circles. I'm almost at the point of giving up.
so once you have got to the market select screen double click the market you want to automate
this should now show you the screen of the market, on the right hand you should be able to see 4 tabs, my bets, trading bets, rules and automation.....below this is strategy editor
clicking on strategy editor allows you to upload strategies by selecting File > Import Strategies
to set a strategy running select the automation tab and use the drop down menu
you will know a rule is in place as the automation tab now shows orange

He everyone. I've deployed John's pace backs automation today but for some reason the bot didn;t fire on 4 of the races. Three of which would have made profit. Can someone tell me why?
the rules I have on the automation are here:
and the actions here:
any suggestions welcome.
-
@danny-o-sullivan Glad you got to the bottom of it.....the unsuspended time sounds like a good condition to add to some of my bots.
One good think with Fairbot is their support are really good looking into things for you
-
@terry-heller @steven-fletcher
Reached out to Binteko and it turns out it was a timing issue. When Lazio scored, the bot took the immediate Back the Draw price before the market had time to update. Therefore, instead of staking £43.2 @ 1.55, it staked £43.2 @ 9.6, not updating the stake as the price rocketed.
I've added "Market State = 'ACTIVE'" and the "Time Since Unsuspended > 1 min" to my conditions section to allow the market time to update after the goal has been scored.
Very unfortunate but relieved that I've gotten to the bottom of it.

@Tom-2 , click on the select market tab and select a market 1st. Then it should bring all the options on the right hand side.
@Tom-2 Hi Tom, are you getting this screen? On the right hand side there's a button called "Strategy Editor". You'll have to import the strategy and then save. When you return to this page, select it from the dropdown menu. Just be aware that it might say "Unknown" which you need to select from another drop down menu. Hopefully that makes sense
-
@danny-o-sullivan Keep us all posted with how it goes
-
@terry-heller
Thanks Terry. I've updated it to Green Up All but that still doesn't explain why such a large stake was put on backing the draw in earlier's tie.. defies all logic.
Ah well, I've contacted Fairbot so hopefully they can enlighten me.
-
@danny-o-sullivan I have read the posts and see you have amended it to Green Up All now...you should also under the Actions tab use 'choose market' and select 'other' and from the dropdown list Match Odds.
-
@terry-heller
Yes exactly that - it's fine when I do this manually but the issue is with my bot (seen in thread) just placed an enormous Back the draw bet after Lazio scored which lost me a good chunk of money. I can't figure out why it did that based on my criteria and placed a £43 bet instead of a £5 bet to Green Up.
-
@danny-o-sullivan
Are you wanting to lay the draw at the start of the second half
Then cash out for either a profit or a loss when a goal is scored depending on which team scores
Then if there are no goals by the 83rd minute cash out to minimise the losses?
Or do you have something else in mind?
-
@steven-fletcher okay thanks for the feedback Steven.
-
@kevin-pepper thanks Kevin - fingers crossed soon!

@danny-o-sullivan unfortunately I don't know of any way to do it in Fairbot
the conditions for football are Fixed score, number of goals, relative score and second half minutes
makes them pretty useful but nothing really for in play stats like you are after.
I've asked Andrey at Fairbot about this and it's on the list for their development but no date given yet when it might be introduced - frustrating...
-
@steven-fletcher Thanks again Steven.
My brain is cooked at the moment,
I think I'll get some shuteye and attack it again tomorrow.

@steven-fletcher thanks Steven - so having Green Up All Selections would have cashed out after the goal here?
e.g.
My initial thought is that if I have more than one bet on this event, would it green up for all bets on this event?
I think that would work to hedge your position against all 3 outcomes.
It would depend what other bets you had in that event......Multiple bets in the match odds market would be effect but cash out all wouldnt impact the over 1.5 market
I wouldnt be doing any live stakes testing until i was as happy as could be that the automation was going to work as expected

I posted this once before which might helpIve found the easiest way to do this is to select the "Select Market(s)" option from the tools menu
This then allows you to select all the horses races and then add them to your watchlist using the yellow star with the green plus icon
Once on your watchlist you can view all the races from from the markets option set. you can bulk apply rules here or go into the races one by one by double clicking on the race and using the automation tab, it goes Orange once there is a bot running
