    Hi everyone,

I'm very new to this and have started the free trial on Fairbot. I have imported the Back the C&D winner strategy bot, that bit was easy and I understand how to assign it to a market. However I am confused as to why there are 3 identical selections where only 1 should be backed. Do I select the same horse in each one, or just once?

Thanks in advance for any help.

@Dan-MacKinnon @Stephen-Beale cheers guys! If only I had scrolled down a little haha

Ideally I would like to incorporate both bets in to 1 strategy, my only thought is if there is no goal between 70th and 80th minute which most of the time there won't be.. would I just put a rule for number of bets less than or equal to 1 on the 80th minute bet?

@Dan-MacKinnon there is a third way and it is possible to place more than one rule on each market. When setting up the rule under action parameters you can select default or other. Default uses the current market while other allows you to select other markets to enter......in this screen its cricket markets.....doing this means you could have multiple rules to enter the match odds for example but you'd set them up on total runs or number of wickets or whatever

@Connor-Garland which of the three options is best probably depends on the rule and how you want it to work. The more specific the easier it is sometimes to get the rule set up

@Ryan might be an idea to consider an FAQ doc as well to compliment the user guide. Some things which come have been answered before but the thread is growing so big it can be hard going wading through it all to find if the answers are already here

@connor-garland that is the one downside for Fairbot is that you can only run 1 bot per market at a time. The general approach is either open 2 versions of Fairbot, or create a bot with multiple strategies/ trades on it

@connor-garland We were talking about this just yesterday lol ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'm very new to this too, and my understanding is that opening a new bot is the easiest way,

you just have to make sure you limit your data requests and keep them under 20 per second total across all your open bots ๐Ÿ‘

(Click Tools --> Options --> Data Refresh --> click it down to whatever you like)

    Hi guys,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I downloaded Fairbot yesterday and have been playing around with automating my in-play Football selections.

I can't seem to assign 2 strategies to the same market though, in this instance I'm trying to place a bet for another goal in the 70th and 80th minute. Most of the time it is only one strategy or the other on a given game but there are some games where I would trade both strategies.

Is this a case of creating another bot that will execute both of the trades?

Does anyone know what 'Smart Bets' is in the Stop Loss section of Action.?

Got a situation of an offset back bet which doesnt quite reach its required tick limit to invoke, then starts to go the other way, and then invokes the Trailing stop loss, ie looking at 2.06 to invoke (from 2.0) , it reaches 2.5 then gets TSL kicks in at 2.02 coming back down coz of the TSL which has invoked.
    Any thoughts?

I might be wrong but I think Smart Bets means the trade out bet is placed so you have a fixed profit/loss regardless of the result. If not chosen then you're trading out for a free bet/loss on the selection.

    yeah that's my understanding

"FairBot offers so called "Smart Bets" that allow you to trade on Betfair with ease and the maximum possible speed. Using "Smart Bets", FairBot generates the required bets to make a profit, (if matched), regardless of the result."

@steven-fletcher Ah! Brilliant, thanks!! Opening a second fairbot sounds like the way to go for me at this stage

I found this (pic) in the Tools --> Options settings

    0_1674737762685_Screenshot (170).png

Is that what we have to do to come under the data limits, or is there more to it?

    Thanks for your help!! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Quick newbie question:

Can someone explain how to place two different types of bet on the same race, please --
E.g. if a race is selected as a Back The Favourite, and there's also a Lay At Short Odds selection for it, how do we place them both?

I posted this a few days ago and it might be useful. Some of the screens dont relate to the specific rules you meantion but if you need further explanations or help just let me know and i'll try to help

While you can only apply 1 automation rule at a time I've found three work arounds so far for this

    1. Open more than one copy of the software. This is probably the easiest way. When you do this you get the message explaining that if you exceed 20 data requests per second you could incur data charges. If you go this route you need to update your settings.....in theory you could have 20 copies open as long as the data requests were limited to 1 per second. In practice i often have 3 copies open and have my data requests set to max of 4 per second.....if you need screens of this i can help with some of these later

    2. you can have a rule set up to open in a different market to the one which the rule is set on.....this doesnt work for all markets but is useful for the main ones.......

    0_1674238363952_3bed3d62-1b9f-4cdf-8208-1b0a1f6ac055-image.png

In my rule for second half goals the markets are specified to enter the overs market so these fire even though the rule is set up on the correct score market as below

    0_1674238469769_9b5b5786-c3fe-4630-8998-e3da11a83e45-image.png

    1. the third way to do it would be to copy and paste more than one rule into a super rule. This would probably be best on fairly simple rules

Here is an example is use on the horse racing win market that allows me to place both the Beaten Favourite and Pace Lays as an example

Two o[tions for me you can either ignore or take the action based on the odds of the strategy. i,e the lay at short odds is between 1.8 and 2.4 and the back the favourite lowest odds are 2.5 so there is no conflict

@stuart-wallace-0 Thanks for that. It'll be a long time before my strategy is ready for any live testing but that's useful to know

@Caroline I am thinking at this stage I'll go with screenshots and then tell people what to do if there's an error message, some of the guys here might be able to help.

Sometimes it might be the support at the software you are using ๐Ÿ˜„

    @stephen-beale
    Thanks Stephen
I think I've sorted the first series of errors which was due to the fact that I didn't realise I had to insert horse name into both the horse name section and the price ...Haven't dared to do an unknown horse one yet. that is todays task ๐Ÿ˜ฐ

@caroline If you post/describe your error message here, I'm sure we'll do our best to help!! ๐Ÿ™‚

(I missed out on 4 days of automated bets because of error messages that I eventually worked out. It would be great to be able to help someone get set up with this stuff)

Can I suggest a step by step video for the really hard of understanding like me
    Many thanks
I am trialling the bots currently but there is usually some kind of error message and it hasn't placed a bet. I am working my way through the issues but its not quite as automated as I had thought ๐Ÿ™‚
