We have a few different automation topics and strategy Megathreads that are doing well. I thought I'd start this to gather all the Fairbot traders together to see if we can collectively develop some bots. Hopefully, we can help each other overcome any learning barriers and share a few profitable bots in the process.

NOTE - Please check any staking prior to use as these are likely set up based on the creator's bankroll. It is advised to run any new bot in simulation mode to ensure you are aware of all criteria. Any questions, feel free to ask!

@kevin-pepper I have now realized my error when changing the staking I accidentally changed the bet to a back bet rather than a lay for some reason I just doubled checked and it was only on the pace lay.

While I'm here, don't know if this is a common question but can you put two automation on the same race and how would you do that? an example would be pace lays and back the favorite automation.

It is possible to have multiple strategies on the same race. There are a few work arounds that I've posted in this thread before

1 - as Terry said have more than one version of Fairbot open
2 - as Kevin said create a master rule
3 - Edit your rules so they enter the win market from different markets. This is the more complex version but works just as well

if you see under Choose Market instead of default i have the other option selected to enter the WIN market. This means i could use this rule on any market in the race and it will enter the win market.

@john861 you've specified 'Morning line' for the Action but not under the Condition so the Condition won't be met for Morning Line.

This seems to be the most common problem Fairbot users have when initially using strategies with selected horses. You need to ensure every relevant occurrence of 'unknown' has a selection made

@kevin-pepper sorry to be a hassle but I've run the automation now in the simulation and it still has the same error code what could be the problem?0_1680180876169_Screenshot 2023-03-30 13.53.15.png

@john861 if you find there are pairs of strategies that are often both selected for the same race, you can consider creating a master strategy which includes both sets of conditions, rules etc.
The example shows the 'Lay beaten Fav' and 'Back Course & Distance Winner' combined. You'll need to ensure there isn't a conflict between combined rules but it sounds more complicated than it is...

@john861 At the moment you need to open another Fairbot to do that. If you have multiple copies of Fairbot running check your settings under options for how many data requests it can make.

thanks

@john861 Hi John, which strategy are you having trouble with? Is it from the one's above or elsewhere? I'll take a look if you confirm / upload the strategy.
Cheers

Morning all, I have an issue with my pace lay automation I downloaded from the thread pinned, I would like to first say thank you for making it so convenient and easy to download and use. However, I selected the horses for the event on the pace lay automation and I got an error signal saying "condition error: selection fixed odds unable to find s" would anyone know what has happened?

Level 3

@stephen-beale thank you for getting back to me! I didn’t know that, I wasn’t selection the horse in the areas you have said so I’ll give that a try on tonight’s races and see if that works thank you. How are you having multiple strategies on the same race as well mate?

Level 12

@ross-love This sounds like you might not be placing the bets fully

I don't know for sure if it is this, but this has come up before, and it doesn't apply to Back The Fav, so this is my hunch lol;

There's two sections for placing the bets: the "Action", which is in blue, and the "Condition(s)" further over at the right, which is in black.

If this is the answer you need, you need to select the horse for each of these options. So for Back C&D, you have to select each horse 4 times, once in blue, and 3 times in black

If it's not that, then just give a shout and I'm sure we'll do our best to help0_1680108128037_Screenshot (13).png

Hi, I was hoping someone could help as I've been trying to figure this out and look through the forum for a while now. I have added the horse racing strategies to fairbot and running them simulation mode but my pace lays and lay the beaten fave lay bets never place, and neither do Back the C&D winners. Back the fave at the off all place though. Is there anything I need to do after adding the strategies as in settings to change in order for these to place or have people simply just added the strategy and then select the horses from the daily email and they work fine? Or should I delete them and start all over again by re adding them? I've added all the races to the daily watch list, selected the strategy and the horse but they just don't place.

@dan-mackinnon

oke perfect. i had that but wanted to check it to be sure.
thanks for the quick response

@samo use Betfair row 1 (by odds not name) as this will always be the favourite at the time the bot fires. That's not to say the favourite doesn't change in the time between you setting your bot and the race actually starting, but that's quite rare.

Level 65

Hi all,

I have a question regarding automation back the favo at the off: do you use betfair row 1 selection or do you use lowest back od as a selection?
to get the favo to back?
i use fairbot for trading.

thanks for the reaction

@justinas-puras not that I'm aware of. I think you have to manually select them. If you've got lots of selections you could hit the little star with the plus sign to add that market to your watch list. Then go to your watch list (the star icon) and select all and there's a dropdown option to select your strategy.

It is a bit time-consuming but no more so than any other method. You can also use fairbot 2 days in advance so if you have today and tomorrow's trades but you know you're out tonight or away the following day you can do everything in one go.

There is a quick way to do this and it is possible as long as you have the rules set up correctly.

You can enter the Select Markets option under tools and then filter on football and what ever market you are looking at and then use select all and add all to your watchlist. From there you can select all and assign a strategy to all games.......you'd need to make sure the rules were well tested though or that method could get very expensive

Back when i was testing my bots I would do this in simulation mode to effectively test it on every fixture each day

Just started using bots today. Followed instructions to import bot in to my fairbot simulation. My question is, wouls it be possible to set up a bot to scan all games and automaticaly pick ones with the right criteria? Or do I allways have to select matches manually? Thanks

good q! @Dan-MacKinnon may know?
