Horse Racing Strategies Megathread

@dave-tancock The original one hasn’t been doing badly for me. Was up 8pts today. I’m getting close to a year high.
Interested to understand the difference. Is it just the fav condition?
-
@dave-tancock try the one in the OP it's 11pts up so far today for me alone, needs forward testing I'm only on £1 lay stakes for it at the moment but 22pts up since end of July, seems to have less variance, sods law will hit a bad run now I've said all this
-
@dave-tancock you using the version in the OP?
-
Is it just me or has lay the beaten favourite struggled the last few weeks?
-
Indeed, but it does show how important getting this favourite stuff sorted is. If it can make that much of a difference in just over a week at only 10 seconds out then it really needs fixing. Thing is you would probably expect it with 3rd fav probably more than fav really since it can move either way (and probably does many times in the last 10 seconds).
-
Just checked this and either your 3rd fav isnt the version listed here or your not following the strategy as its listed (probably down to the favourite thing but its worked in your favour big time). According to the backtest (even missing the sunday as you said) this strat should only be 5 or so points in profit. You are 26 points in profit so having a very nice run indeed.

I've edited OP to the strategies I am currently forward testing. Would people like me to do regular updates on the results?
Here they are:
Lay 3rd Fav - rules_export (9).json
Irish Dobs - rules_export (8).json
Back to lay dobs - rules_export (6).json
Lay Beaten Fav - rules_export (7).json
Yes Martin. Very helpful

@Karl-Pick so to do this what you need to do is set up a new GROUP, and set that to 'none', and then within that group you would put in the distance that you want to exclude.
This is something I have done a few times with the OR rating.

@Karl-Pick You can set a new rule group and then have "none" and select that as a distance. It should show up as blue if it's being excluded
It actually makes it really easy to do this in the software doesn’t it?
Definitely. Since Adam showed me how to exclude stuff it's changed my approach to the software. Once the favourite rating is included then this software will take another huge leap forward.
Forget the football backtesting for now, focus on the favourite filter for the horse racing. I'll go and post that on the football thread and see if anyone agrees
