Has anybody been able to build anything with morning prices and trading out before the event yet?
I am old enough in the trading world to remember Jinxy (shout if anybody else does!) and he was a beast at this, would be great to have a BTC morning club on horses.
-
@john-folan Thanks John. I set it at 6 hrs out as I kind of wanted it to be a set and forget where I place the trades in the morning and then be done with it. Having said that, I’ll play around with it and see whether even moving to an hour out is manageable when paper trading. Not using automation yet so trying to minimize the time placing the trades.
-
@andy-donnelly Had a look before I went out. The logic is sound and the way you are set up seems ok to me. I'd paper trade it a couple of weeks as you are laying at quite high odds and you want to make sure your results are the same. The only thing I can see 'wrong' with it is there won't be a lot of liquidity 6 hours out for you to get matched at bigger stakes as the strategy moves forwards. That said it's still over £400 profit with a similar ROI 10 seconds out so that means it would be up scalable.

Hi, I've been testing out a strategy where horses go down in class.
Originally my novice horse racing knowledge made me think that this would be a backing strategy as thought the horses would be up against lesser opposition and thus would do well. However, the results were the opposite so have turned it into a laying strategy. On second look, it did seem to make sense that these horses were going down in class for a reason and were likely out of form. Is there logic to this angle?
I've attached the settings so if anyone could take a look and give any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I can actually get the strategy to a higher overall profit but changing the last finishing position to be 3rd or better, but like having the setting as 4th or better as it reduces the number of trades and has a better EV.
I’ll have a look over the weekend mate. There is a sound logic there.

I've asked @Adam if we can have a group filter for times to bet. Eg 1min before the off compared to 10 seconds before etc.
Same could be done for after the off.
I'm not sure if it can be done but it would be a game changer. No software I know of can do this.It can and we will

@keith hello mate quick question, apologies if this has been covered, on your set and forget back the faves, what do you do if the fave changes from the qualifier selection. do you change the selection to horse with lowest odds at the off or go with the qualifier selection. hope that makes sense
Hi @liam-willis
The strategy is based on the fav at the off mate.
I think the qualifiers give all horses as it won't know until the off which horse is the fav if that makes sense -

I do that manually. Just screen print the results, name the file with the main settings. Rinse and repeat after changing a single variable.
Great idea I do similar. Be nice to I've a group filter though

A quick note on the software and real life.
BSP is known for in-play markets. The BSP is produced in less than a second after the start, and can be used in software such as Bet Angel.
If you are looking for 1 tick scalping strategies, ignore the ROI.
Funny I was looking at placing bets inrunning just after the start. The beauty of the new software is you can test different entry points. Wicked feature that
