Set & Forget Football Strategies

@james-rome
I'm signed up to another match betting site for two years. (Seemed a good idea at the time) but all I use it for now, is to place one match bet per month to keep my 0% commission alive. -

What are people's opinions on this idea. Following these set and forget strategies on Smarkets I think would actually be more profitable than Betfair in certain situations. Having Oddsmonkey gives 0% commission on Smarkets, and, on many of the selections the odds you would be targeting and getting on Betfair are available on Smarkets. That extra profit would add up over the course of a month. Oddsmonkey costs £25 a month, but if you're bankroll and stakes were fairly high you would more than make up for this in the extra profit from no commission. In play strategies would make Smarkets a no go as the odds in play are often weak, but in terms of set and forget I reckon this would be a decent idea. They would put commission on you eventually if you hit the profit boundaries, which I think are 25K in previous 12 months, but while the 0% lasts I reckon Smarkets would be a genuine great option alongside Betfair. I just thought I'd put that out there for anyine who doesn't know.
becareful trading using smarkets with oddsmonkey i did that because my betting pattern didnt fit a match better i lost my 0 percent comission. atm was only doing £1 bets as well for like 2 weeks to try it
-
@conor-medlyn yeah already on OddsMonkey as still matched betting so have 0% commission on Smarkets and matchbook. I am gonna try using these two (liquidity permitting), weirdly it didn’t cross my mind, I just assumed there was a specific reason people mainly used Betfair.

@tom-2 ok interesting mate thanks maybe i will backtest the spreadsheets for the strategy's to see what would of happened using 2% bankroll set and forget etc
-
@josh-armstrong
I was doing 0.5% of my bank on Tomasz's lay under 1.5 but it's been so profitable, I've increased it in-line with my usual 2% that I place on all my other bets. It's get scary though when your bank is 4 figures, as mine is now, but at the end of the day, it's just percentage's. -
i have been doing tomasz lay under 1.5, elo lay away, and martins over 1.5 for the past 3 weeks and profited £38 using a £500 bankroll 1% per trade am i right in saying if the strategy profits 66%+ then its fine to use 1% of bankroll per bet? or does it more go on odds like this odds 1.5 or below 1% of bankroll, 2.0-3.0 odds 0.5% bankroll, odds 3.0+ and above 500+ bets bankroll i am doing set and forget trading btw
-
@james-everard use the filters in the members section, I've added odds to those so Jong Ajax game wouldn't have wasted your time yesterday.
-
@chris-osborne That's what i thought , the Breda vs Jong Ajax match never made the trade as k/o odds were 1.13. The other two came in this evening plus a Tomaz u1.5 trade and a Martin lay elo.
Will keep trading these and paper trade some systems and see if there are any potentials. I need to do what everyone else is doing and paper trade until i know something is worth putting hard earned money on. Also i am going to interact more on here and i reckon i will be in a much better position in the next 6 months -
@james-everard Its set and forget if the odds aren't there move on

HI, i am looking to use these successful set and forgets whilst i paper trade my own systems ( taking Chris advice)Been doing Tomaz under 1.5 lay system this weekend which was good,
On Martin's back over 1.5 goal system , is this a back over 1.5 goals or lay under 1.5goals , also what odds are you looking to get in at. And elo rated lay the away side is this getting in at kick off or if they take the lead?the back O1.5 is to back between 1.25 and 1.35 - no reason why you couldn't lay unders
The ELO strategy is lay before KO
Good to know on Tamaz's strategyOn the back over 1.5 goal system the odds are below 1.25 at ko do you wait for it to get matched inplay or is it a no trade if for instance 1.17 at ko?
-
@chris-osborne Thanks Chris. I have taken on board what you said the other day that i was trading too many systems. I will be doing these 3 set and forget systems to try to build my bank up and then paper trade some other systems that i think will work but may need the filters refining.
Thanks for the information -
@james-everard Hi James,
Martin's over 1.5 goals is to back the over 1.5 goals.Rules: Back Over 1.5 Goals at odds between 1.25-1.35

@conor-medlyn
It's because they are lay bets. You get back your stake. I got a little confused with that when I started. -

Does anyone know how to see the BF SP for a particular market without waiting for the historical market data from BF?
with Fairbot there is a SP option which will display said value.
-
@Terry-Heller Ahh yeah it makes sense now, thanks.
