@lee-woodman it’s on my to do list to go through the data I have and see if these would be profitable waiting to the end of the first set, but I’m the opposite from you, like to take my green when it’s there. Plenty of ways to skin a cat.
-
@simon Thanks Simon, appreciate that! Ill keep an eye on them and get a feel for the markets. I do have a tendency towards letting my 'green' ride out but thats with other strategies in other sports so im open to that being different in tennis. Ill give these a go and see how i get on with them

@lee-woodman hi Lee, these are really simple and how I have cut my teeth in the tennis markets.
If you want to research them yourself I use the BTC stats and look for games where the dog is no worse than 1% less in PJH (projected hold) BPS (break point saved) and BPC (break point converted). If they are better than the favourite then even better. I also only use them in 250 events, and not on indoor hard courts. The reasoning behind this strategy is the Favourites will be less motivated at small 250 events, therefore you should see I higher percentage of dogs winning. And if the 3 stats I mentioned above are close, then we should expect a closer game than the market is expecting, and therefore have some value in the price.
The strat is lay the favourite at the off, and then take a red if the dog gets broken, take a green if the dog goes a break up, or exit if 4-4 and no break of serve.
If you are just using small stakes and wanting to watch how the market moves though I’d maybe recommend letting these run to the end of the first set and then taking a green or red then. This will give you more insight in to how the market swings with more volatitly the later it gets in the set. -
@simon how do you trade these? Just looking to find my feet with tennis trading and wanted to follow a strategy on paper to see how the market moves and to work out what sorts of things I need to understand

Im looking to learn about tennis trading after being inspired by Martins post! I like the sport and i think it could fit in nicely for me. Although my knowledge is extremely lacking, i am very willing to learn and i have no prior biases either to cloud my judgement.
Can you guys recommend any simple strategies to look at whilst getting a feel for the markets and ramping up knowledge?
I have a book ive never read i won on twitter when i used to use that platform, its called Mastering Tennis Trading by Daniel Weston (ISBN 978-0-85719-499-2)
It may be on the internet somewhere for free.
Id also like to get involved with tennis - its a market i have never touched.

Another great day on these. 3 winners and one scratch at 4-4. Munich is proving to be very profitable!

Today’s lays and results. I only traded one, which lost of course.
Schwartzman WON
Klizan LOST
Garin LOST
Struff WON
Pella LOST
Molleker WON
Edmund WONChardy LOST
Sousa WON
Lajovic SCRATCHSo great day on these. 5 winners 4 losers and 1 scratch would have made for decent profit. My son has a lot to answer for
-
@col thanks bud, it’s been a long year
-
@simon Congrats on making it to one year mate! I remember it feeling like quite the achievement (and relief ).
-
Not much time to post or trade today, it’s my sons first birthday! There are 10 lays today!!! Typical! So he’s either gonna cost me or save me a lot of money. Will post how they got on later.
-
@dave-jessop heh all good. So you are able to obtain/feed the live score/result information using betangel? Good to know as I have been playing around with BF bot manager and it doesn't seem to integrate tennis scores as far as I can see
-
@dave-jessop Oh sorry, I was referring to the lay first set winner - are you automating that strat?
