Rome Today
I like the look of a couple of games today in Rome, which is where my focus will be. I have 2 for the WTA and one on the Mens side of of the tournament.
1pm
Bencic v Sevastova
Bencic is the value player for me here, but at the current price of just over 1.5 it will be one that I will watch, I think if she has a tough first set (which could happen) then I will look to back her @ 1.80+ as I think she will grow into the match and will have enough to see off her opponent to be honest over the course of the match.
1.50pm
Garcia v Mladenovic
Only one player for me in this one, Garcia her price is amazing value I have her as the heavy fav here and I am surprised that we are being treated to this, I will let them both have a serve if both players hold their serve I will back Garcia - I will be out if she wins the first set, will take the loss if she loses control in the first set.
3pm Dimi v Struff
I like the price on Dimi here, currently 1.79 he is a hell of player when he wants to be so again let them both take a serve if they both hold then similar to the above I will back Dimi and trade out when he wins the first set, taking the loss if he loses control

My watchlist for today:
One on the WTA low PJH
Collins (Wozniacki has fitness concerns so will tread v carefully on this one)Staying well clear of this trade now. Collins 5-2 up and the medic out for Woz. No trade.
-
My watchlist for today:
Back if a break down before 4-4 or a set down
Bautista Agut
Zverev
DjereOne on the WTA low PJH
Collins (Wozniacki has fitness concerns so will tread v carefully on this one)I also think Kohlschreiber should be evens vs Cecchinato, current BF price is 2.32. I’ll let both players serve then back Kohl if both hold.

Quite a few on the watchlist today.
I fancy Norrie to make a fast start vs Millman so will back Norrie if both hold serve, and trade out by the end of S1 or sooner.
I will back Coric and Gasquet if they go a break down before 4-4 in S1 or if they lose the first set.
In the WTA I will lay the following if serving to stay in the set or a double break up
Tsurenko
Kuzmova OR Errani
Tomljanovic OR ZidaneskiI will also lay Barthel if she wins set 1 vs Kontaveit.
Norrie - no trade
Coric - Win
Gasquet - Win
Tsurenko - no trade
Kuzmova - loss
Zidaneski - loss
Barthel - win -
I wanted a fast start from Norrie but not THAT fast!
-
@lee-woodman I was almost exactly the same, 3.55 down to 1.7
I didn’t go back in though so well played!
Yeah if you can read momentum in tennis there’s certainly lots of profit to be made! -
@simon Good shout on Coric, managed to get on at 3.6 and took the liability out at 1.7. Went back in again at just under evens towards the end of the second set and took the liability out again at 1.6
Its amazing in tennis how much players seem to hit a point where they just seem to capitulate after literally giving everything for so long. That momentum shift is huge. It happened with Zverev against Tsitsipas the other day
-
@simon Yep, he will whip the crowd up I feel. It could really be a huge platform for him and let's face it tennis is looking for a new star!

Just catching up on the tennis yesterday, some result from Tsitsipas! That will have laid the demon to rest of his last game vs Nadal at the Aus Open. He really does save his best for the big occasions. Reckon he could have a very good Wimbledon.
been saying this to a few of my tennis hitting partners, his swing style does not suit clay at all so it is amazing how well he has done on the surface.
-
@ryan-carruthers yeah I think he’ll really suit the grass and I can really see the Wimbledon crowd taking to him with little British interest too.
-
@simon I agree, I think he is building unto that actually. His style will really suit it and he gets a good Wimbledon it will really kick his career on.

@simon Its definitely a fine balance between sticking to the trading plan and being more dynamic when opportunities arise. Ive always done better when ive stuck more rigidly to my previously plan but at some point there has to be a more flexible approach. Maybe 're-investing' a % of the profits is a way of doing it
-
@lee-woodman glad you got on Yeah I wish I’d done the same. Was really surprised to see Zverevs price come in to 1.75 at the end of S2, wasn’t expecting that much of a swing and thought it looked a good price to lay. Tsitsipas has been playing the better tennis and I fancied him to win same as you.
I need to learn to be more flexible. I had my trade, it won and that was me, but there was an opportunity there and I missed it. -
@simon Good shout! I got on this too. I nearly flipped the profit back onto Tsitsipas at 3.15 as i was watching and felt Zverev had given too much fighting back and felt the momentum shift back to Tsitsipas. Unfortunately i didnt, but at least im starting to see these things!

Couple that look interesting to me today. I like the price of Zverev vs Tsitsipas. This will be a really aggressive game, there is a bit of needle between the 2 as well, so really looking forward to this one. I have the value on Zverev, but agin going to be patient and back him if he goes a break or a set down. He’s a fighter and loves a comeback, and especially with the needle in this game, I think he’ll be extremely motivated to get back in the game. Also, he has a great record here and has spoken about how much he loves playing in Madrid this week. I like this trade a lot.
I also have Bencic qualifying for my low PJH bad servers strat. So I will lay her/back Halep if Bencic goes a double break up/is serving to stay in the set/goes a set up.
Get in Zverev! Great fight back and a winning trade. Also great we get to see a 3rd set. Really good game so far.
No trade on Bencic, although she made a game of it.

@col yeah could well have been. She looked erratic. I had a small interest on her, should have listened to the market.
-
@simon I read (too late for me ) it was cold and windy - cause of the drift maybe?
