@james-woodroffe nice 1 James didn’t get in it as don’t like leaving tennis trAdes running when not watching. Made decent profit on Zverev to compensate

Well done he went 2-1 up!
Didn’t check or do proper research but read today that’s 4 wins from 4 over Shapavalov on a hard court. -
Whilst I won’t be awake and trading it if anyone is up trading the late matches (or early morning depending how you look at it) I think 2.56 for Busta tonight against Shapavalov is great value. It’s one of those matches where I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Pablo actually won it and that Shapavalov to me might be a touch short but either way I see that 2.56 coming in especially given that Busta will be well rested following the match with Djokovic the other day.

@daniel-cooper I do for the men’s mate yeah it’s predominantly looking for value especially with players who the public might not be that familiar with. As for the girls it’s because their service games get broken a lot more than the men so as a result there’s more opportunities. To be honest I’ve not really looked at laying the first set winner in the men’s as I tend to focus on the girls.

Afternoon gents, finally back home after 3 weeks in the States and wrapped to see this forum taking off now that we finally have some tennis.
Lots of chat about different ways to go about things and strategies which is great.
For me there’s 2 that I like to stick with and they are backing the dog in the men’s if I think they are a realistic chance of winning the match and ultimately closing if they get the break in the first or go on and win the first in a tie break. Obviously sometimes the break if early might mean hanging on till later in the set as the odds won’t move to much so it’s better if it comes around 3-3 and obviously 4-4 or 5-5 is even better and here we are talking 3 set matches and not Slams.
My favourite still is laying the first set winner in the women’s. It’s low risk but again you pretty much are just looking for that break of serve in the 2nd and ideally with two evenly matched girls. Laying a player when she is up a set and a break is well worth it also the risk to reward is great and a lot of the time that momentum carries into the 3rd set. Apologies for the rambling but I’m hoping some good opportunities arise in week 2 now that I’m back. Happily backed Azarenka and Mertens amongst a few girls to win the Open and they play each other for a semi final spot tomorrow so hopefully I’ll be able to lock in some green across the board on that by closing out or at least remove all liability in particular if Azarenka wins and sets up a SF against Serena.
Again stoked to read how much guys are enjoying and keen to trade tennis. It’s a great sport to trade and you can lock in some pretty nice green thanks to the fluctuations during the match.Hi James
I assume you base your mens dog backing on your own tennis understanding and research over anything else?
Additionally, why only the females for the lays?

Hi Guys
Am new to the Tennis stats, Is there a way i can query get the win percentage of both players on the same surface type from the last 10 games ?
I asked that question a few days ago as well, but you can't at the moment, unfortunately. To me, it pretty much makes the tennis software redundant as it is, so I hope Adam will find a way to show it, as the data is obviously there.
@Ryan-Carruthers what's that site that does this? forget the name of it but know you were a member

@chris-osborne also leaning more towards the tennis trading at the moment while I have some football filters racking up the data!
I’m at work but doing the odd tennis match! I did indicate earlier in this thread that it appeared to be more profitable, from an extremely small data pool, to wait for the other player to (hopefully) win the 2nd set as the upswing in odds and therefore green should compensate for any outright losses on that second set. I have had some recent experiences to the contrary:
As we know, the odds are diabolically low to lay the 1st set winner, and odds fluctuate with every point in game. In the Fucsovics vs Tiafoe game on 05/09, Tiafoe won the 1st set and I layed. He went on the win the second without me realising its a 5 set game, thus my stake wasn’t lost. Lay odds were at 1.1, allowing me to lay for £1 for £100 return - ridiculous. I have toyed with topping up almost as an insurance policy as it allows for great swings if the losing player gets even one game. In this instance, Fucsovics won a game and went 30 love in the second game, giving enough swing for just over 1.5 points profit regardless of what happened next (I think Tiafoe won 3rd too) - only risked 1 point here total.
Todays situation was in the Bouchard vs Kung game - Bouchard took the first and I layed. Bouchard then took one or two games and I relayed for such a little amount of liability. The outcomes looked like 0.5 loss on Bouchard and 10.5 points profit on Kung (ridiculous) - Bouchard got up to 4-0 games in the second set, all was looking lost, for Kung to come on the big comeback bringing it 4-4 in games! I waited and waited but it felt like this was the time to cash out for 1.75 points profit. Glad I did as Bouchard then smashed the next two, winning the whole match 2-0 in sets. So, again, glad I cashed out for a good profit rather than lost 0.5 points. Even if I had lost, its only 0.5 points.... loving Tennis, BUT keen to get a more streamlined strategy/approach so I don’t have to think as much - needs to be repeatable! Thoughts?

@gavin-holder I see that the data is there for each player, but i cant for the life of me find a way to add it to a filter
I’m struggling with that also, brings up for the match but not on a player by player basis

I have been paper trading the lay the 1st set leader a while now. Helps that I like tennis just to watch, great sport. Where do you all find the best place to watch streams? Sometimes BF is such a tiny little screen!
Has it been profitable so far and have you looked at both women's and men's tennis (if so, do you find there is a difference)?
I have found the womens to be more profitable slightly. but I dont have a huge data set yet. My instinct is to focus more on the womens games but will report fully after at least 100 results.
I’m liking the tennis trading also, leaning towards focussing more on that than football at the moment.
Dabbled with it over the last 18 months or so.
Also been focussing more on the Women’s side of the us open although been caught out a couple of times -live and learn
Just looking at the Tennis Stats at the minute to see what I can get from them.
I know what you mean about the Betfair streaming although I’m watching more on my iPad which is fine also via Betfair.
Bet365 also shows a lot of games.
If you have an Amazon Prime subscription, most games are streamed there although not much use for trading as a significant delay but fine if you just want to watch.
