@chris-osborne yeah mate I’m looking forward to an early uninterrupted night and the return of the test cricket. Will hopefully be back to normal on Friday but nothing will surprise me.
-
@james-woodroffe perfect description for the past year I’ll take a positive aka sleep
-
@chris-osborne what a cluster F@@@
-
@james-woodroffe looks like all games tonight will be cancelled not sure the’ll have time to complete players like Serena wont be interested in playing two games in one day.
-
@chris-osborne yeah mate I just saw this. I don’t know what will happen now. I guess we just wait and see but Oz definitely haven’t been holding back with lockdowns.
-
Ffs Chaos looming worker at hotel some players staying at tests positive for COVID although not worked there since 29th January re Sydney Herald
-
@james-woodroffe not the first time she’s lost to someone she should beat easily I question the motivation outside of grand slams never looks interested or willing to chase things down although she has never won one a slam either.
Can’t see her doing much next week - queue a run to the final

Topsy turvey type day today which started well but hit a snag this morning.
First the good.
Was able to back Shelby Rogers at 2.02 against Petra Martic in the opening set of their match and close out for a nice green early in the 2nd as Shelby went up a set and a break.Backed Svitolina at 2.0 in the first but had to wait longer as she dropped the opening set but came back strong. The eyes were getting heavy so closed out at 1 set a piece.
Was hoping to back Elise Mertens in her match against Caroline Garcia but didn’t get the odds I was looking for as she coasted to a straight sets victory.
Should of left it there but who’d a thought after dropping the first set that David Goffin would get bundled out in straights by some ITF- Challenger circuit 17 year old dirt rat. And @Chris-Osborne I hear you bro. Karolina Pliskova not helping with a SS loss to the perennially surly Danielle Collins.
Red thanks to Goffin and Pliskova.
-
Will I ever learn, Karolina Pliskova now blacklisted

@james-woodroffe @adam-williams responded in tennis software thread, stats should be available today
But unfortunately were not. Let’s hope this gets sorted soon because there’s quite a bit on at the moment.
Agreed I’d also like the Aussie Open games available before the start of next week, subject to the draw

And just as I'm about to trade KAnepi v Kasatkina Betfair suspends all markets for an hour for planned maintenance. Was also looking at Fernandez v Sloane Stephens could be a tight game especially if Stephens is in Diva mode.
Hopefully this maintenance sorts there tennis scoreboard out
That's it for me today will be a small loss mainly from Swiatek and Brady got a bit back on Krejcikova.

@chris-osborne nice work on the Sasnovic match mate sounds like it was a ripper to trade 9 breaks in the first!! I’m hoping to get a good sleep, in preparation for tomorrow morning struggled last night to crash so didn’t push it. Was happy to just trade the two matches as they both hit my shortlist.
Having a look now at tomorrow’s matches and hopefully the stats software will be up and running. -
@james-woodroffe Nicely done James
Couple of trades for me the Sasnovich v Begu game was crazy, made most of my money there, 9 breaks of serve in the 1st set, dabbled with opposing the server, carried that profit into laying Sasnovich after she won the 1st set, begu controlled the 2nd set easy win there.
3rd set took some profit and Laid Sasnovich after broke in 1st game, Begu broke straight back cashed out and that was that.
Sasnovich is a dreadful server at times if she’s ahead always worth opposing.
Took a small loss on Bouzcova v Bolsova laying bouz at end of 1st set, and adding to it at 1.05 after she broke, exited before the tiebreak
Also backed Swiatek after she lost the 1st set took profit, east trade as she won the 2nd comfortably. Took the profit and laid her after broke in 3rd which in hindsight was the wrong move as was the stronger player at that point but was a scratch trade.
-
Nice chilled out start to February.
Backed Garcia at 2.02 after she went down an early break against Babos and she got home in straight sets and also backed Swiatek at 2.56 after she dropped the opening set and removed liability when she went up a break in the 3rd.
Was hoping Kvitova dropped that breaker against Venus but wasn’t to be.
Had my eye on some others that didn’t qualify.
Slow and steady return to tennis. -

@chris-osborne nice one mate good start. I was getting set to lay old man Seppi just before serving for the first at 5-4 but went and got himself broken.
I was also a bit shocked by the way Burel rolled over, I thought she showed a fair bit in that opening set but then just handed the initiative straight back. You are right tho should know better than to trust the flakey french.
