@john-folan They better bloody not be! Wont be many of us left, endangered anyways!

One more thing to add to the virus conversation.
We have already had a worldwide contagion, much worse than annual flu & any random virus epidemic like corona. It was called Spanish flu & millions died from it. This Covid jobby has a long way to go to even come close to Spanish flu. Knowing what we know today compared to back then, the entire world is far better able to fight off such things.
On the other hand, the world could do with a large drop in population. :angry_face_with_horns:

@john-folan Yes, this is one of those times when you can actually feel sorry for the people running countries, even if they are utter twats.
I've always secretly admired* people who want to be Prime Minister or lead any country, it's not a job I would ever want, even when I am the last one standing after the apocalypse.*Only for that one reason mostly.

@richard-latimer I agree completely with this view, I am one of the already compromised.
We already know how to attack this virus, the Chinese have shown us what we need to do. With the knowledge we currently have, any country not following China's methods is doing it wrong. -

Please, please guys. Here in northern #Italy we made one big mistake. Everybody kept saying "It's just flu" and now our intensive care units are collapsing. Everybody kept going outside like nothing happened and now our grandparents and parents are dying.

We know it’s not going to be great. We know it’s worse than flu or our and other governments wouldn’t be crapping themselves. Sadly they are torn between the economy and doing what’s needed. This would be the same no matter who’s in power.

@Ryan-Carruthers had better watch it. Apparently a lot of people are eating gingers as they think it will protect them against Coronavirus. At least I think that’s what the article said.

Reality. Flu affects way more people
Indeed and you know when you have flu, some people have no idea that they have the Corona virus, one of the reasons it spreads so easily.
We've seen the likely outcome of the new virus, it infects rapidly, the vast majority have a mild illness, those who are already sick are affected worse, infections peak, then fall off fairly quickly then life will begin to return to normal. A vaccine will likely be developed, we'll stop worrying about it and await the next big virus. The one that will kill most of the human race will likely start off fairly benign, we won't see it coming or it will look harmless & nobody will care much. Then it'll mutate and it will be too late.
Then the flu will get the rest of us.Good theory that.

Then the flu will get the rest of us.A vaccine in 12-18 months of which not everyone will be able to get the first batch. Fit and healthy people will throw it off easily and scarcely even know they've had it, thus being an unwilling carrier and spreading it far and wide amongst the frail.
I can laugh about it but really don't see it as anything to be dismissed so casually.
Have you seen the 20 miinute video where an expert discusses in depth. He hesitates to say it will be like in Italy over here but that it is in our own hands to mitigate the outcome.

Flu is something like 0.1% mortality. Corona has been 4% in the states apparently.

Bet you were crying when you were typing this!
