Anyone else think Alex Scott is gorgeous? She should be on TV more!
-
@john-folan 100%!!!
I have started doing batch brews like rocket fuel
-
Today I learnt. Coffee drinkers are less likely to commit suicide than non coffee drinkers.
Me and @Ryan-Carruthers are ok then. We drink gallons of the stuff. Probably be dead from a heart arrhythmia long before we have dark thoughts lol
-
@gary-brown oh man the nightclubs! Yes!!!
-
@neil-mallett same as me! I live in Lincoln lol
-
-
Just going to leave this here.
-
@ryan-carruthers Yep I agree I think kids miss out so much now and wont have the memories we have from the things we got up to when we played out in the good old days.
Where I live they don't have any night clubs anymore. I use to love going to clubs in the good old days with a big group of mates both male and female and the laughs we had. It was affordable as well as well for us even if we were students or in the 6form

@dave-jessop I grew up in the mighty city of Lincoln, although compared to now, it was more like a large village, or several large villages. It was a relatively quiet place. on Sundays my mates & me could cycle all the way up the pedestrianised high street and barely see anyone else, it seems unbelievable now but it really was that quiet. Once at the top of the hill, we would freewheel down Spring hill, taking the bend half way down, totally blind. I look at it now & I struggle to believe it myself, what a bunch of f'kin' idiots.
I moved to Nottingham when I was 18, that really seemed like the big city to me & I loved all it's attractions, especially my girlfriend. I couldn't bare it though, I moved back to Lincoln a few years later. The big city isn't for me, I prefer my small town. -
@neil-mallett Same here! I am so glad I missed the telephone generation as well to be fair and actually played out on bikes all the time, messed around, built dens, played games etc...
-
@simon definitely, all those things.
-
@simon Might change it to the Victor Meldrew Thread
-
Is this now called the old man moaning thread
Agree a lot with what you are all saying though. Although I do just think itโs a case of times changing like they always have and always will, and older people looking at the generation below them and thinking wtf! I just think the pace of change has increased. -
@neil-mallett That was pretty much me too. Went fishing on our own, made our own games up. Played on building sites etc. Still alive to tell the tale.
-
@neil-mallett this #DidAsAChildButDangerousNow trending right now on twitter. Not education related really but shows the massive difference of todays world.
Played on streets, rode bike without helmet - in my case on a bike I built myself, walked to school, walked to school alone, caught bus into town, also alone, played out with mates at night in the woods, got home when told.

@john-folan do kids get much education these days? I can't imagine there's much time for real learning with health & safety briefings, being told it's OK to be gay or change your sex whenever you like, also being told it's OK & perfectly normal if your friends decide to change sex or be openly gay, explaining why certain activities should or should not be done in the playground, I could go on & I probably will. Do they do maths anymore? I know they don't do English, I've seen the internet. Who told kids that 'could of' is an actual phrease anyway.
Blood boiling. -
@john-folan That school lol
