Spent a couple of hours this morning clearing the beach of rubbish. It's organised by a Green councillor. Big crowd of people, in spite of poor weather. Large mixture of ages, with a very sizeable number of teens.
Not going to change the world, but it's something. -

This was on Twitter but in fairness you don't know what they are specifically protesting about and you can care about the climate without giving up Maccy d's forever. I had a similar debate with a vegan on Facebook recently.
Rubbish. Climate change activists want us eating less meat and producing less waste. Plus if they were ordering big macs cows farting =C02.
I know of at least one 'activist' locally who is going home each day to her five bedroom house and two range rovers.
They all use iphones made by child slave labour to organise themselves and their tents are made of one of the worst fabrics ever.
If they want to do something useful, go plant some trees or go pick up plastic from the beaches and countryside and f**k off and leave the rest of us alone to get on with our lives.
I care about the climate. We can be doing more. Not everyone has to become a vegan to cater about the place in which you live. My.mum is a vegan. Good for her. My wife is a veggie, good for her. I eat a combination and so don't feel the need to eat meat every day. I'm not giving up fast food forever and I care deeply about the world we live in.
Some people in all walks of life will be hypocrites. Doesn't mean what they are standing for is wrong.
Also, who's to say they weren't ordering a veggie deluxe haha?? It's bullshit!!
They can stand for what they want but when they stop people putting food on their families tables they can do one.
Everyone should care about the environment/climate change but no one should be subjected to the utter twatness these morons inflict on people. Lead by f*****g example. Clear a load of rubbish up, plant trees. Don’t get off your face on LSD so you don’t know what day if the week it is and cause other people problems. If you want to go veggie or vegan, great, you crack on. But don’t tell me I have to. Don’t block the way to people’s work or hospital appointments. Basically don’t be a ct. Lead by example and more people might follow you. I now use the Ecosia search engine. Every 40 searches you do they plant a tree. Spread the word about that instead of trying to spray a building with red food colour or glueing yourself to a plane like a tt. Bellends the lot of them and their actually quite valid message is being lost by their childish lefty liberal moronic behaviour.
With you on everything until the lefty liberal bit. I consider myself liberal. What is so wrong with being liberal??
Also, I'll check out that search engine. Sounds good.

@richard-latimer Point was they were eating at McDonalds - home of plastic straws and cutlery and whatever those boxes are made of ... as well as their tax avoidance - money which could be spent to clean up the planet - that's why I called them hypocrites
I know what you mean. But that puts me and billions of others in the same boat. Ideally macdonalds and others are pushed into developing greener ways etc such as the paper straws which I hate to say......are s**t in comparison to the plastic ones haha!

@dave-jessop Can’t disagree with anything you said and as for that grumpy girl she can do one too.
They won’t protest to India or China as they would roll out the tanks. Much as we should dust off Boris’s water cannons and give the whole lot of them a much needed wash. That would improve the climate.

Anyone watching the rugby?
Interested in seeing how Japan get on against Scotland. Must admit they have really surprised me how well they have done this world cup. -

@keith-anderson I haven't watched or seriously supported them in a long time, I've said for years now I'd rather Liverpool win a corner.

Anyone else watching 'Preacher' on Amazon? Slow start but loving it. Just finished series three.
I started and gave up. Didn't hold my interest and there's enough other stuff I'm heavily invested in haha!
Midget Porn? Seriously though I gave up but then picked it up again. Glad I did. Blasting through it.

It's great John it was one of my favourite comic books growing up and they've done a tidy job with the show. .If you like that 'The Boys' is possibly even better.... It's also on Amazon. Adapted from a comic also, same guy that wrote Preacher.
I loved that. Got the first omnibus to read now as well

@john-folan Yes, there must be someone else watching it, if it was only you it would never have made S3
