@ryan Yea Ive used some of that kit, really rough on the hands, especially if its a brand new bar too! Liquid chalk is your friend there, fills in all the grooves Gym owner wont thank you for it though
Yea I was shocked at that too! in just one week and only the burgers eaten out, not counting anything eaten at home for bbqs etc.
-
@matt-wood Ahahaha yes the old meat hooks!
I remember I joined a new hybrid gym they called it with all the primal strength (the brand) kit was amazing but my god the bars were killer on the hands, it was like sandpaper.
That is the amount of burgers eaten, Jesus!!!

@matt-wood WOW top work matey
Cheers Came about when I found out the weight (in kilos) of the average amount of burgers eaten out in the UK in a week, 1'250'960!!
Wondered if I could lift that, I might still get there.Niggle injuries are starting to pile up now though as I have been slowly dropping weight since April too. Hands are the worst so just strapping my hands to the weights/machines and treating them as meat hooks lol
All good fun though.

Just got off the phone with one of my colleagues who's based up north. He told me he signed up to his local gym which you can order beer and burgers at. I don't know what your gyms are like up there, but I'm starting to question some of the fitness advice on this forum
Haha well if you scroll back to the beginning I opened this with a post about an eating contest I did with my good lady's brother, he thought he could out eat me. For the record he managed 2 big macs, 2 1/4 pounders and 2 hot aple pies.
Still beer and burgers on order in a gym... sounds good to me, what could possibly go wrong -

@ryan Yea I am a slight ectomorph, but not seriously so, I just have really long limbs lol Tough for types like us to put size on, takes a looooooong time. Have to eat a large amount of food, and for a sustained period of time I find that harder than under eating.
Was he the guy who was killed by a train? If he is the guy I am thinking of then he was in great shape, drugs obviously help
Just googled, yep, sad end to another life.
German vol is brutal!
-
@matt-wood I will give them a watch, for somebody who is an ectomorph I am so hooked on this world lol I've literally tried all types of training Westside for Skinny, German vol, crossfit, the lot fascinates me!
My idol was Greg Plitt! I met him at Bodypower a while back, great guy.
-
@ryan I think it was a body power event, may have had a different name back then, been to sooo many lol.
He did an excellent series of videos on his mounaindog youtube channel about his life story and how he got to the IFBB pro level. Really interesting, also such a humble guy too, never bigged himself up at all.

John Meadows
Guy was a beast!! Was this at body power you spoke with him?
-
Bit of a niche thing but in the Bodybuilding and Fitness Athlete world John Meadows passed away last night.
Legend in the industry and all round super nice guy, I had the pleasure of speaking to him very briefly a few years back. Type of guy everyone liked, you would have to go a long long way to find someone with a bad word about him.
Left behind a wife and two young boys
RIP John
