@gary-brown ok thanks for your help its much appreciated. I always assume I am doing something wrong for now as Im so new to this

-
That must be it.
-
@gary-brown Yep I am with you up to that. The scope is max option is 20 matches though. So I am guessing that means all teams last 20 home and all teams last 20 away?
-
Hi Matt so click on the country and go to overs.
I think click on the i and remove stats for current season option.
See if that works mare

hi guys talking about leagues and the best leagues to trade i use the filter software for this.
so on the left corner i click on a league. Lets say Australia A League.
i go to over and unders
i click on the filter to include as many games as possible.
i like to trade leagues where their is a high percentage of goals so i look at all the leagues where the average for over 1.5 goals is more than 80% of last few seasons.I also double check the previous league season on soccer stats the free website and if this season league has a decent amount of data i will use it for the current season.
so for the A League it is 85% of games had over 1.5 goals
this is based on 1630 games over 1.5 goals and 291 games had less than 1.5 goals.i tend to then select which games i am trading from these leagues as 80% of games in these leagues for the last few seasons have over 1.5 goals in each of their games.
SO I then filter the games from these leagues to match my trading plan such as second half goals or over 1.5 goals.
This is very interesting Gary, I can only get the software to show me the last 20 games. What am I missing to show more?

@lee-woodman That is amazing! The result speak for themselves as well
91.1% SH goal bloody Nora! -
I posted something in the football thread earlier about separating leagues based on quality so thought id share some figures as a couple of people seemed interested. Obviously i havent re-invented the wheel with this and most traders probably do this naturally but i did a bit of analysis on my main filter and it bumped the figures up quite a bit. So basically i just went through the leagues and graded them A and B in terms of quality. The idea being that the better leagues were more competitive and therefore each game mattered more. They also tend to have better players and deeper squads to change things as required. The teams also tend to be a bit more reliable. So all i really did was use my own knowledge of leagues and also my trading knowledge and gave the leagues an 'A' or a 'B' grade. So China, Sweden, Norway, MLS, Iceland for example were A and Estonia, Belarus, Slovakia, Peru etc were B. The figures for my SH goal filter are below:

A lot of the figures for the total look decent enough as they are, but remove the lesser leagues and the SR becomes better, significantly so on some trades. These are just a few examples trades, but these are the ones i tend to either trade or at least benchmark. The other factor is certain league grades are subjective

@lee-woodman This is amazing too see buddy!
Love this, I am really chuffed for you and how you are approaching your trading. Really focused and tracking the right data and its paying off nicely, the key takeaway here for me was when you said you were break even around the 15th but kept plugging away robotic like! This is where from experience I've seen traders throw in the towel only to then miss out on a very good run, variance will always happen - it's how you handle it.

Had a really good August and ended up about 35 pts up. More importantly though i stuck to my plan for the whole month. Up until the 15th i was about break even but i kept plugging away robotic-like, trusting what i was doing and trusting that things would come good. Previously i wouldve changed something drastically, played around with the stakes or tried to add a new filter to get some profit
Ive really focused on my SH goals filter this month and had more faith in the selections. Ive gradually increased my liability on the trades but rather than have all liability on one trade (ie O2.5 or LCS), ive found 3 different angles and spread the liability. All 3 angles are worthy trades in their own right and sometimes i will win 1, 2 or 3 of the trades - or just lose all 3, but either way my max loss is pre-determined and accepted as a potential loss and to be honest no loss has hurt me emotionally this month
Theres a lot of great stuff going on in the community and it has to be helping other traders learn and develop, its certainly helping me!
Going forward i plan to continue trading this filter as my main trading type, this is my priority. I have removed all leagues which i consider to be 'Grade B' leagues to trade and it has improved the results. I considered tracking so many other variables to see their effect but i could spend forever trying to get the figures fractionally higher but im not sure theyre going much higher on what i want it for. Instead i will track the results and continue checking the viability of the trades i have settled on
I am recording data from a couple of FH filters. Ive built up a bit of initial data so will spend this month tracking different variables from these filters (odds vs SR, goal times etc) and looking at different angles. I would like to have a good FH filter developed which may take a few months
I am also tracking a broader filter which i havent even considered what angles to look or hope for. It has nearly 20 different criteria all based around finding goals so once i have a couple months of data ill see what it pulls out. I may find something, i may not, or it may point me in the direction of something. All im doing with this is recording the results
Hopefully this month continues in the same fashion as last! Im not overly bothered about the financial or profit side of it yet, i just want to learn, improve, knock bad habits and become a better trader. After that the profit will look after itself
Well done, love your filter and seems you really are on the right path!

@lee-woodman all i can say is well done lad, this is fantastic to see. Someone who develops his own stuff, sticks to his rules and doesnt panic. Its been great to see you turn into this type of trader and the results paying off superbly now mate, keep this up
just maintain that same focused mindset and let it repeat and repeat every month -

I ended the month (just over 3 weeks for me) quite well. After setting a target of 10 pts i managed to do just over 16pts so im happy with that and will increase the stakes by 10% this month, this puts me into August with a head start as even if i fall a bit short of target then i can still jump up 10% next month. My monthly target is 10pts and over the year im hoping to be able to increase the stakes by 10% monthly
I feel ive traded quite well for the best part and ive managed to reduce the number of trades ive done. The end of season factor has been big this month so ive tried to be more aware of what the result means for each team. As its the 'business end of the season' we find teams which are normally gung-ho are happy to see out a 1-0 win if its suits their position. Previously i tried to trade everything on my shortlist which was a mistake but ive been happy to leave trades alone if im not sure or if i dont have time to trade them properly.
One thing thats hitting me more now is just how significant the small numbers are. Strategies which gave a steady but small profit were dismissed but now im seeing how much they add up over the month. Im also finding that staying away from the forum in trading times is helping. Thats not me being dismissive of what people are doing because i know there is some really good trading going on but ive had to be strict and switch off from everything which isnt in my plan to avoid FOMO and overtrading!
Hopefully the trend of July continues into next month! Really looking to forward to certain leagues becoming more settled; China, Australia, MLS, Norway, Sweden, Japan, South Korea and possibly others

Hey Lee nice too see you back mate.
