@bottlabroon whats the difference between in play trading and in play betting?

@bottlabroon Suppose the question is are you profitable? for me it is not about what feels right but what is most profitable- if it means more liability i will do that- later trades dont allow much room for error which is why i dont do them often. At odds of >2 though you only need to win/lose 1 to break even so i can see the draw to doing these.
The problem though is John, if you can't handle losing runs then you may never get to where you want to go as you can end up giving up too early.
That was me a couple of years ago until I changed my style more towards in play trading instead of in play betting. It softened the ups and downs for me and allowed me time in the game to refine my strategies.
There is no right way and wrong way but there is a right way for your personality.

Not too often I play unders but I've laid under 2.5 at Rapid Vienna at 1.52 at start, will look to take out the red if it hits 2.02.
Edit - Should have said I laid over 2.5 not under. Early goal though....
Now I know why I don't do unders very often. Consider myself very fortunate to get out of that with scratch after 2 goals in the first 19 mins

No rashness mate i just did what i thought was the done thing really. I did better before using filters. Have a mint one for SH goals (89%) but im yet to make profit in months. Lost the enjoyment element completely. Great week last week then 2x2 point reds brought me right back. been like that for months. Going to trade things as i see them now and do my own research- was doing this a year ago and had 2 profitable months. Since then i havent turned profit in 8 months. As said before filters dont mean much really- yeah they pick out the high scoring games for example but they dont do more than that.
Maybe have a look over your trading and see if you can start backing at higher odds. Some people dont like trading with such small risk rewards and others dont like late goals risk reward, maybe paper trade for a while to find out what stage of game will suit your personality as a trader better. Filters just help find games they dont mean you trade every one of them. Like iv been saying use them to help judge a potential trade not to make a trade. Glad it looks like your having a better day today. Just dont get hung up on individual trades that go bad think bigger picture.
Got to agree with Darri here, it's very important to find the right trading style that suits your temperament. I can't hack risking more than I can win on a trade so don't do it but others can and do succesfully.
Many people don't like my trading style with a plethora of scratch trades that neither win nor lose, they find it boring and too safe but that's fair enough.
You need to work out what you're comfortable with before deciding how you want to trade and then develop your watchlists/shortlists with that in mind.
