Then what you do is take a £100 bank. Using 1% compounding stakes and in a little over 18 months your £100 has made you £1130. That is how simple trading is. I've attached the file so you can add more filters if you want and play around with it. I changed the staking back to flat. Enjoy.

Then I check the class. I did check Handicap vs Non Handicap but that didn't make any difference.
-
Next up I go to race type. Looks pretty obvious to me what needs to happen
-
Then moving on from there I picked the profitable days and ran it through looking at pricing. The anomaly being 4.0-4.99. Now I see this a lot where one small range does this in the midst of several other profitable ones. Not sure how you would weed those out. But the easy option is to knock out anything 4.0 or higher as the 4.0 more than covers the higher priced profit in losses.
-
So just for shits and giggles I ran a lay every favourite through the software. No other filters and the price being BSP. This is what came up. Pretty mind boggling really. Thoughts?
-
Further to the favourite's on a saturday theory, here is mine. Like Ian's, bugger all filters. I've always loved a DSLR filter as it pretty much affects every strategy.

Classic Trobs: Trob any between 3.5-9 as close to the off as you can. Avoid Heavy Ground.

@john-folan Very interesting John. I ran a couple of my other filters through days of the week and one of them was poor on a Monday and the other was poor on a Friday - something to monitor going forward
I might run some of the other favourite strategies through the software. See what it throws up. This is where the software will really start to pay off.

@ian-wylie I ran my short odds lays through the software. Look at Saturday compared to the other days!
ingteresting, looks like the fav do better on the sat and therefore shorts odds lays should be avioded? thoughts?
Would reduce variance and only lose 10 points(roughly) profit across a year. Probably worth it and backs what Ian’s found based on what I previously mentioned. Saturday is favourite day.
well we will wait with baited breath to see how ian's testing gets on and ill stop trading the short odds lays on saturday moving forward

@john-folan Hi John, I was messing about with the software with your back the fav on Saturday idea and came up with a couple of filters which look a bit too good to be true and was wondering if you could cast your eye over them if you get the chance. I approached them in different ways e.g. one of them I started with courses and the other I started with the class then race distance, no. of runners etc. and filtered out the losing stuff each time.
have you been testing this ian? or are you going to be testing it?
-
@john-folan Thanks for checking it out John, I'll monitor them and see what happens, cheers, Ian

Slow on the selection front at the moment. Getting a lot of runners over 90 days. So that will change in the next month
-
@ian-wylie Hi mate. I can't really see a lot wrong with either of those. There isn't many filters, which is always a good thing as a lot less risk of back fitting. Profitable to BSP as well which to be honest is the dream
