Hi Guys. Just wanting to know what cricket people dont trade whether it be for liquidity or other reasons. I'm assuming most if not all trade test cricket and all the major franchise t20 (IPL, big bash, PSL, blast).
-
For the early risers or night owls the NZ Super Smash starts tomorrow morning and live on BT. It’s a pretty decent T20 competition and I started to enjoy trading it towards the backend of last season.
It’s 32 matches and runs till late January and the PSL will follow immediately not to mention the BBL so a pretty decent time for yet more T20 Cricket to go with the test series that are now coming thick and fast. -
@andy yeah I am mate but U.K. based now.

Looks like a decent partnership is building now 198/4. I would say pretty even day so far. If India go to stumps without losing another wicket then they have edged the 1st day. However if NZ can grab another 2 wickets including the key wicket of iyer then NZ would win the day. Thoughts?
-
The average 1st innings score in kanpur is 370 odd. I cant really see India make that now as they are 145/4. So an under par score brings NZ into the equation. Will wait until both teams have batted once. This could be a closer match than the bookies have it as. Its probably due to 4 1st team Indian players out of this match.

cant believe that the highest successful run chase in Kanpur is 83! however the average 4th innings score there is 135.

Interesting market in Galle this morning. SL have gone out from 1.07 to well over 1.3 in no time at all, even though there's been no rain so far. Seems to be shortening again now, and it's very difficult to see anything other than a home win.
-
@dan-peacey I rarely lay the draw from the start, as usually it shortens on the first morning, although this time it has gone the opposite way, which rather surprises me.

@andy where abouts in Oz mate?
Melbourne. You from Oz too?
-
Don't forget Pakistan tour Bangladesh too, starting 4am Friday morning (UK time). Weather looks perfect for the full 5 days play there too.
Draw price is large however, might need a very long opening innings! -
@richard-futter what if NZ win the toss and decide to bat?
-
@andy where abouts in Oz mate?
-
@dan-peacey there’s nothing wrong with greening up when you can’t guarantee what tomorrow holds weather wise. I did exactly the same. Took my profit with the Windies 6-18 not knowing if the rain could still save them.

India and New Zealand renew their Test rivalry at Kanpur very early tomorrow morning. I shall definitely be looking for some tasty draw laying. With five days of unbroken sunshine forecast, the chances of a stalemate look remote, especially with the home side missing four of their top-line batsmen, including skipper Virat Kohli.
The Kiwis were comfortably beaten here in 2016 and it was the mesmerising Ravi Ashwin who mopped up in the second innings. A repeat looks likely, if India bat first and put up a decent total.
If they do, I would expect the current draw price of 4.6-4.7 to decrease quite a bit. That will be the time to move in I reckon.
I'm setting the alarm. Could be plenty of opportunities to profit in this one.
The 1 advantage of living in Aus... a 3pm start here.
-
@richard-futter Would you lay the draw from the start?
-
I backed SL @2.06 and then layed them off for a round 20% profit. Only using small stakes. I figured that no team had chased higher than 268 on this ground and with a 150 odd 1st innings lead I also figured that with weather being iffy that they were going to go for some quick runs to force a declaration. If the weather wasnt iffy I probably would have held on for my trade now that the windies have collapsed lol
-
@richard-futter looking forward to this series and yes hopefully a very profitable one.
