Should Root fall early, then it could be the usual pack of cards. As usual, Aussie quicks getting more out of the wicket than ours. Woakes is useless in Aus conditions, even i knew that, shouldnt be in the squad let alone the team, all this no 8 business is rubbish, we need runs from 1-7!.

As a proud Englishman, who loves his cricket... this is embarrassing. Great for trading, but from a spectators point of view I'd like to make a game of it please!

Slow going this. I did think there was a chance of a declaration at tea, but looks like they'll give England an hour's batting in really difficult conditions.
