@stuart-wallace invaluable input as always mate. Thanks. At the prices I've had a small lay of NZ with the exit planned at 1.3.

it may be an idea to keep an eye on the weather for this one, as they are predicting some rain on day 3.
Also, another factor is that historically this deck flattens out on day 3 and becomes a good batting track, so if SA can last til day 3, it might be a chance to Back the draw at high price (especially if SA are, say, 150-2 and just restoring parity) when the rain comes and see if there is any profit to be taken once the rain finishes.edit : Some rain predicted on days 3 and 4 now.

@matt-ayles hi Matt, yes, thats one of the params you have to take into consideration on enetring the market.
For me, when i evaluate the game, say an hour before start, i always check weather, cricinfo for team news, but crucially what the discussions are re condition of pitch. Now, when i heard it was going to be a green top i just thought...wickets....so therefore i was prepared to accept 5.9 for draw knowing that wickets would send it sliding...look at price now...25 !
I also Lay the team about to bat, expecting early wickets - in this instance its extremely rare for a captain, once winning the toss, to choose to bowl - which is what happened last night, so that was the giveaway for me. -
Not got involved yet, draw price much too high for me to get involved.
Maybe they can build a partnership, otherwise will see what the position is like in the morning.

2 down

Kiwi’s as per usual asking a lot of questions
Eye on how SA cope with Jamison shortly
Pending match market positions 3-4 overs after lunch could get me for a NZ LAY for a periodNo action me yet

@dj-reid I used to pre-match but I find now I can usually lay it much shorter in play.
I'm thinking of setting them somewhere between 3.0-4.0.
Could miss a few of course

@dj-reid yes, all the time. This one being a prime example where i'm not gonna stay up all night to watch the action.
might not want to do on days 4 and 5 though as the formative days unfold. This is exactly my issue. I'm not a full time trader so same as you, I can't be up all night. I know it won't be maximising what I could be making from cricket but it's just a top up. And I can always do the lay of the chasing side last day when a record total is required.
Different again obviously with Tests in England and the WI.

Elgar gone for 1.
very green wicket. Think SA could be in real trouble in first session
-
NZ win toss and bowl.
gonna have a lay on SA with hope of early wickets.
-
Greened up on IND v WI ... thanks Windies for easy money again.
Also greened up on BPL game - nice and simple in the end, though i effed up pressing wrong button on Betangel which meant i cashed out instead of just trying to remove my liability ! Doh ! -
Fair enough! Its not tragic, my liability is only 1pt... early wicket should do it. Prepared to sit for a while, may remove liability at 1.4 if thats all i can get.
Edit: think this ones gonna be a loss. Not terrible though, first one I've had on cricket in ages!
-
@matt-ayles Yeah, i find that with India games and prices - thats why i 1) Tend to lay team playing IND and 2) Scalp when trading with IND prices.
-
This India price has hardly moved all innings... only wanted 1.5 to match

Comilla 43-1 off 2 overs . Narine 36 no off 9 balls !
RRR now down to less than a run a ball !
Narine 50 off 13 balls - fastest in BPL history by 3 balls !
-
West Indies will be much better suited to this format, I think they will post a competitive score, I’m not willing to lay India but I’ll be tempted to lay West Indies around evens
