My focus has switched back to IPL but despite 70% chance of rain there's not been a drop of it reported so far.

As per normal day 1 markets slow and can be stale
I’ve taken the back to lay advice from @Matt-Ayles
3.05-2.44
And greened that up for now -

No this is always the problem. Full first session, no rain interruption yet.

Latest research on the test match (most of this already mentioned by myself or Stuart):
Morning - Cloudy, 41% chance of rain, humid
Afternoon - Cloudy, 71% chance of rain, humid.Monday, 40% chance of rain. Tuesday, 41% chance of rain. Wednesday, 25% chance of rain. Thursday, 40% chance of rain.
6 draws in 21 tests, last one in 2018 between these 2 sides. The last 2 matches have been losses for Bangladesh. Pakistan won by 8 wickets and the match lasted 344.3 overs (around 12 sessions or 4 days). Windies won by 3 wickets and the match lasted 441.1 overs (around 14 sessions or 1 session short of max time). Therefore any more than 3 sessions washed out could point towards a draw.
Teams released, Bangladesh short in the wicket taking front. Sri Lanka have a new coach, and are without some players at the IPL, they appear to be set to give several players debuts.
Motivation should be there as these matches do qualify for the world test championship and both teams need results.
Draw price around 3.00, given the forecast for the next 24 hours, I stand by back the draw with a view to lay after day 1...

TMR TEST HOW GOOD
for now have had a lay
LAY FALCONS W 1.04
want 1.16 take most out
next couple batters go ok -
@matt-ayles And IPL being the IPL, that will be SL's 6 best players.
I wonder how much the civil unrest in SL will upset/galvanise them ! -
@stuart-wallace excellent research on teams. There's only 1 Bangladesh player in this years IPL as far as i can see and at least half a dozen Sri Lankans...
-
@matt-ayles Hmmm, one of those games that makes me feel, after looking at the pre game stuff, such as ground history, weather etc, that this could well end up as a draw. Despite only 1 of last 7 being a draw, that was also BAN v SL where both teams batted forever ...500 plus against 700 plus !!
I'm gonna keep my money in the bank until toss time, and see what transpires.
My assumption is that all the relevant players are still playing in IPL, and if that is the case, then i would expect SL to come out with more depletion than BAN. -
Accuweather currently showing a 71% chance of rain and 45% chance of thunderstorms in the morning/afternoon on Sunday (Chattogram). However despite some sites suggesting blanketed rain throughout, they are suggesting overnight rain and potential for a reasonable 4 days of test cricket.
Thats as far as my research has gone so far, need to look into results at the ground and teams etc but early signs suggest a back to lay on draw might be the play.
More to follow.

Thankfully we have some international cricket coming very soon, don’t get me wrong I love the IPL but always start to get a little bored of it by this stage.
Haven’t traded any of the games for 4/5 days to take a break and not feeling that enthused about todays game so may skip it again.
Watched the Nasser meets interview with Rob Key this morning, he came across well but didn’t really offer much insight.

@stuart-wallace I saw that I'd have him as white ball coach like a shot but red ball?
Anybody rather than Gary Kirsten.
TBH, McCullum is a breath of fresh air, and would be highly regarded and respected by all. Key is a shrewd operator, so he clearly sees something in BM that others dont have.

Getting closer to some test matches... although i have very much enjoyed having cricket on every day the last month or so.
Anyone live near Bangladesh for weather updates?!
-

-
Looks like Brendan McCullum to become ENG red ball coach.
-
Had a few days off from trading the IPL as pitch conditions have drastically deteriorated, would expect bias to be towards batting 1st from now on
