@Richard-Futter retire with the mase in 2 years
-
Hurrah. Can Jimmy carry on until he's 50?
-
ENG RR when bat as well will insure draw market wont dip
I'll be hooking into a lay 3.5 ish -
Yep, the rain is a long way away, the ball is turning and the draw price is drifting. Very unlikely indeed that this match will be a stalemate. Would help if England had a decent wicket keeper though!
-
That's regulation for us old keepers aye @Richard-Futter
-
Looking at the Met Office map it seems we might escape the rain for most of the day.
-
My rainfall radar has frozen at 9.15; maybe they rely on bloomin' Virgin too... grrrrr
-
@Richard-Futter Thanks, I still have a decent green hedge out figure so I'll remove my liability and take it from there
-
@David-Milligan Hi David; I always hedge out when I have a sizeable green in the early stages of a Test match and more often than not even things up at the end of the day's play. You're never quite certain what might happen overnight. I'm looking at laying again around 3.3, but my Virgin internet connection has been on and off a lot over the last three days which makes trading very hazardous. They used to be very reliable but I'm finding their service has been getting worse and worse in recent times.

BANG !!! Nice an easy now to see how this plays out till close of INNS -
looks like could maybe get 2 sessions in today (or maybe at least 1.5), and tuesday may be the same if not better.
One thing to remember is that EDG has fantastic drainage, and unless there is a huge amount of rain, play should restart at worst 30 mins after rain has finished.A couple of early wickets should see me back into the green.
-
@Richard-Futter are you still currently against the draw or have you hedged out? Not quite sure what the done thing is when there's the weather uncertainty
-
Looks as though the real threat of rain will come around 3pm, so should be quite a lot of play before any likely interruptions. England badly need to pick up the last five wickets before the Aussies build any kind of a lead, because Lyon will be a major threat on a dry, turning track.
-
@Matt-Ayles Looks like thunderstorms around tomorrow and Tuesday; will need to play it by ear because those sorts of conditions could miss the ground completely or hit it hard. It's all in the lap of the gods. The weather radar will be doing some heavy lifting!
-
Some forecasters suggest Tuesday could be washed out but it varies depending on your provider...
-
Australia tactics are the total opposite to Bazball? This carries on the series score will be 0-0
-
@David-Milligan I would imagine there'll be lots of good swings if there's a bit of rain about tomorrow.
-
I had great fun blindly scalping the draw market yesterday and managed to reduce a lot of liability without really having a clue what I was doing but I'll rein it in today - plan of attack is to follow @Richard-Futter into battle if draw reaches down round 3
-
@Richard-Futter Thanks
I'm starting to understand the markets and the moves, but its just knowing the right times to enter etc. Knowing the prices to look for are really helpful as well.
I'm sure if England were still in and batted a bit this morning, the price would be shorter too. Stokes is clearly going for the win based on the declaration which is good, but il definitely hold off at the moment.
-
@Fraser-cord Would hold fire on laying the draw at the moment; judging by the radar it looks like some rain is about to hit the Edgbaston area, although the worst of it should have gone by the time play starts and we should have a fairly clear day. Worth keeping an eye on. I'll be waiting for the price to get close to 3 before going in again - especially with rain a real threat tomorrow.
