Wood has bowled one over, taken a wicket and conceded four runs edged through the slips, and hasn't bowled again an hour since. Makes no sense to me.
-
Boom... the door is open now. Come on England.
-
Gotta feel an early wicket or two are on the cards for England; simply have to lay the draw at 2.3. Lots of overs still to come today.
-
He shouldnt have taken that run
-
What are we watching
-
Time to bowl stokes
Unless has a diff forecast ha -
@Richard-Futter how long would you expect England to bat for? I can't imagine there will be a lot of runs from Australia so a huge lead probably isn't required.
-
Looks like there might well be a short lived shower just after the lunch break around 1340 but shouldn't amount to much.
-
England ticking over nicely; would imagine they'll be rather more aggressive after lunch.
-
Also has sunday forecast improved ?

The Met office rainfall radar is now showing very little rain around the Manchester area. Hopefully we get it wrapped up today!
-
@Dan-MacKinnon If you got on at 10 well done. Sitting pretty with them now over 20 and I can't see them shortening very much; they're bowling and fielding with everyone on the boundary so are obviously settling for a draw if, as expected, there's very little play on the final two days.
-
Aussie bowlers and there precious stats
GONE haha
Go on ENG -

The AUS price came in around 10 so thought I'd be brave and put a small lay on. Either ENG are going to push for the win or rain might play a factor. AUS don't need to win so you think if they had a big target to chase they might play for the draw.
Is that reasonable or am I being optimistic? AUS price has already drifted back to 14 so not a losing trade at present.
I was going to do the same, but changed my mind. Really hard to see how the Aussies can win this one.
-
play on time wow

Price beginning to drift

@Richard-Futter love this . that ball to root

Raining in Manchester this morning (shocker!) and forecasts aren't great, but looking at the radar it seems to me that the worst of the wet stuff might have passed through by 10.30 and there could be quite a lot of play from around midday onwards. And, with the way the pitch is behaving just now, batting could be very tough indeed for Australia as the clouds descend in the post tea session. Certainly worth a gamble laying the draw around 2 IMO.
-
@Martin I think that 4 days will likely be sufficient, but will we get 4 days in is the question. Draw price as i see it wont move much, unless ENG declare at lunch with a 200 run lead and AUS lose 3/4 in middle session. However, rain is forecast for most of today too, as well as days 4 and 5 .
Good decision to dump Old Trafford imo, 1) we dont have a good record there 2) crap weather and 3) crap stadium. However, Headingley is a different matter in that we have a good record there. Ageas Bowl is a lovely stadium with likely better weather too.
