Trading Q and A Megathread Ask Us Anything!

@conor-medlyn Hey buddy,
I will speak with Martin about this one as it's my strategy but I didn't track it on those sheets, Martin did.
I have been running it since the start all those years ago 16/17 now, which is scary. It's always been profitable year on year for me hence why I still use it.
It is a riskier long term strategy as the losses hurt more because of laying.

Anyone know a good pre-match way of identifying if a football match second half over 1.5 odds regardless of score line, will be around 2.0 to 2.3? So it’s possible to then lay the unders market at 2.0 to 1.80 ish.
-
Can someone advise me please on which site has the most accurate time of play for football matches? I've noticed that Betfair can be upto 4 mins difference to Flashscore Thanks guys

@ryan Hey Ryan. I wanted to ask something about the LTD strategy. I thought I'd ask you directly since its your strategy, I was talking to Martin on forum about this the other day
I can't understand the tracking of the Betgreen LTD strategy in the spreadsheets. I believe it is being tracked incorrectly. In a video I watched Martin said he's marking a game as a trade win purely based on the fact of if there was a goal. But, the question of if was there a goal, and whether the LTD was a trade win, are two completely different things. Many times the game can be 1 - 1 or 2 - 2, and possibly 0 - 1 even, at 70 mins, and be a loss. Because of this I believe that the trade win % of 87-89% is incorrect and its less than this in reality.
If I am wrong in what I have said I apologise but I just cant understand the data collection that has been put in . You have been running this strategy successfully I believe so could you shed some light on any of this? Long term paper trading would be required to see the results for myself, but there seems no point in paper trading right now as you would need the reliable basic information to go ahead with this, due to the long time it would take to go through many games following it.
I really like the look of all your other strategies, and I'm glad I found BTC, I was just confused on this specifically.

@joseph-henderson my latest YT video series will be mega for this, I will probs drop it out as one long podcast as well at some point.

Does anyone have any good reading recommendations for working on trading mindset etc.? I know there are several mentioned on the podcasts but I forget to write them down! Thanks!
Thinking in Bets by Annie Duke might be up your street. Less about trading mindset but problem solving in real life using a trading/probability approach.
-
@dan-mackinnon Mastery is excellent. His others are great too.

Trading in the Zone by Mark Douglas is the big one everyone references. I would also suggest The Mental Game of Trading by Jared Tendler.
Not quite trading related but Atomic Habits by James Clear and The Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday were really helpful for me.
I'm currently reading Mastery by Robert Greene which is excellent. It's one of those rare moments when what I'm reading is lining up with experiences going on right now and it's just lightbulbs going off all over the place!

@ryan will have a good list for you!

@karl-pick personal choice, but for me I’d change monthly gives variance a chance to play out, I’ve seen others change daily or weekly which are too risky for me
I change monthly its just the amount...do you go fixed amount or keep the stakes rising every month? Just the amount per bet looks a lot know.
I always go for a percentage of the bankroll 2% max, if the amount looks too high that you’re not comfortable, either reduce it or withdraw some.

Always go 1 or 2%

Probably been covered before, but I am currently using 1% of bank betting strategy 1 and 2% on another strategy.
Things have been going quite well, but I have not drawn down money just kept the kitty building.
At what point do you keep the stakes fixed or do you just keep going at 1% +2% respectively, just it seems like a lot now, where as the start is was minimal. -
@peter-mcfarlane I deleted my reply because I noticed only Martin and Ryan reply here - and they know about five million times more about all this than I do lol
Anyway, if the horse fits the criteria then I back or lay it, so today I've got a couple of races where I'm Backing the fav and doing 2 Pace Lays or something in the same race
Only thing I watch out for is when there's a conflict of strategies (e.g. Back the C&D and Pace Lay for the same horse) Then I just delete it from my selections and move on. But other people might have different ways of approaching that kind of conflict
-
@stephen-beale I have been using bet angel. My issue is more, should I be backing/laying 2-3 horses in a single event if they all match the criteria.

Hi guys. My head hurts when there are multiple selections in a horse race. Back this horse, lay these 2 horses for example. How do you approach this? Or do we avoid the carnage? haha
Much advanced thanks
