The road to full time

Wont be trading the internationals tonight, watching scotland in hope as always. Pretty solid start to the trades iv posted. For anyone new i will be posting all my 2nd half goal trades over on the football thread and then doing a weekly summary of the results just so i can keep accountability for my own trading, and to show the p/l of all trades i post on here. Im posting this now just to get back in the swing of things. Going forward ill just update weekly and occasionally if a trade has a clear reasoning ill do an update on it.Looking forward to club football again this weekend and posting up some more winners for folk. The FHG project is back and will be posted on my results sheet as normal. Hope some managed to get on today

A preview of the week looks like Wednesday until any potential trades for me. I had looked at the internationals after a decent weekend for me but i would rather build that momentum into the club games starting with japan on wed. Ill be posting trades over on the football thread (LCS/LTD), but keeping results and progress on here. FHG will resume this week if you want to follow along and ill re share the results sheet for everyone, they have been reset to be in line with the new season.

@james-everard thanks bud, its a hard thing to admit, there wasnt just one trigger it was an accumulation of small things. Just like trading that snowballs gradually over time. Your spot on with mindset mate, a lot of my previous posts have always said treat your trading bank as if it was a business and have a professional outlook on it. Trading is different to a 9-5 job, you can go into work and there will hopefully be some sort of restriction for you causing major damage to the company. But in trading your one bad mistake from losing everything. So mindset and having clear mind when entering a trade is paramount.
Take whatever time you need to refresh mate, i said earlier about having a safe place to talk about your issues. Often its hard to show vulnerability to your mates or family, but give it a try, once its out there to just one person it lifts a weight off. I wasnt in deep mental trouble and i never sought to have a label on what it was but find someone you feel safe with, either a friend, family member or someone you know and give them a chance to help/listen.
You know where i am if you want mate. Its a hard time for everyone but each individual has certain things affect them at certain times. I was trying to bury myself with projects in trading and elsewhere to escape from dealing with it. But taking the time off to address the issues has helped.

HI Darri , Really sorry to hear you have been struggling and glad you have taken the steps to help yourself. I struggle quite badly with Anxiety and depression which has manifested over the last few months since the virus started so know how your feel.
I need to be honest with myself and have to admit it has effected my trading . I need to get my head straight and only trade when in the right frame of mind. The best thing to do for the time being is have the rest of the week off trading .
Good to have you back bud -
@darri great to see you back Darri.
Best of luck going forward -
cheers lads just used the weekend to get back into the swing of trading and will start to post up my trades again. Interesting why there is an international break given the risks involved. Players who had a club bubble now mixing with others is just horrendously stupid. Hopefully we can get through the fixtures an get back to club football with as little disruption as possible

Welcome back Darri.
Glad to hear you have refreshed yourself. Many people deal with 'hidden' issues and it is important we take the time to focus on ourselves to fix these. Health, mental and physical, is the most important thing for any individual. Good to have you back on the site

Great to see you in here again, Darri.

Welcome back, Darri!

@chris-osborne @Ben-Dobie thanks lads, its something i avoided addressing for a long time, and as with everything that approach will eventually hit a peak and it can start to have a impact. As i say im fine now, re focussing on plans and taking a break from things has helped. Appreciate you guys sticking around to comment and even read this stuff. It will be a new approach on here but hopefully seeing how someone else trades will help the same way it helped me. Legends thanks!
-
@darri Welcome back mate, do what's good for you and look after yourself , I'm sure we'll all still pick up a lot from the thread.
-
@Darri Good to have you back, regardless of how much you want to help people, your health and wellbeing is more important than anything else that's going on.
With everything that's been going on this year most of which is out of our control and with yesterday being "World Mental Health Day", this is more important than everything. We all need to take a step back and reboot on occasions
Good luck with your new approach and with your trading going forward but especially in everything you do
-
@stuart-capstick legend thanks bud! best way isnt it, yes anyone can follow others traders but you dont fully understand why until you attempt your own stuff. You learn your strengths and weaknesses in the markets much quicker and clearer when doing it your own way.

@darri
Hi Darri. Glad to hear that you feel better and hope that all works out with regards to your other projects.
You've given a lot of people a lot of assistance. I've been profitable for a couple of months now and reading your blog/advice has definitely played a role in terms of helping me to see that there is more than one way to trade. In fact, that's the biggest lesson I learned from you: finding my own style, for want of a better word.
Take care- sounds like a goodbye, but is simply a wish for you to look after yourself.

IM BACK! First thing to start with would be why i left. I have been struggling with personal problems for a while now, while i wont go into detail about it, just know i wasnt in a good headspace the last time i was on here. I was using this forum as escapism from those as i felt i had a place where i could talk to people without expressing my own issues. So when the negative comments and issues on this site happened i took them far more personally as a result of that. There has never been a more pressing time for people to stop bottling up how they feel and any issues someone has in their life they should just say it to someone. Doesnt need to be family or friends just someone who offers a safe space. Im 28 next month trading sports for a living and have a pretty active social life, people naturally assume everything is rosey, but people work in different ways every is different. Iv been heaping pressure on myself to rush to get status and get to the things i want in life and when those dont come quick enough it can affect you mentally. There is no such thing as 'man up' and if only the stigma for men wasnt like it is.
Im much better now, i sorely needed a break and a refresh. I want this to be a clean start for this thread and for me on here. I want to forgive the negative comments from before and if iv also got to accept that i may have fuelled those by being so outspoken on certain topics. This all changes from now on.
I will be taken a more laid back approach things, more in line with how other members who trade full time use this site. I obviously have been continuing to build up other ventures outside of trading as thats in the long run what i want to use the betfair money to help fund.
Read the description at the top for whats going to be the focus of this thread going forward. FHG project will be redone probably to the annoyance of some but no point doing a hash job of something that was a good project for the thread. I will also only be doing my personal trades going forward so the bank building series is over. Betdaq was used to separate my main bank and that beginner bank series. Betdaq and smakerts are just not able to be of use to traders, yes value bettors but not for getting in and out of trades, hopefully one day there will be a betfair competitor.
Thanks for the messages i received since the news of me leaving. I have read them and appreciate those that commented and those that seeked me out off site. I hope everyone is doing well in these times. If you have questions about anything trading related then feel free to ask, lets get back to making some money on here.
Thanks you lot, international break going well tho:

Just to update on this Darri has left BTC hence why it might be quiet on this thread.
Can anything be shared as to circumstances surrounding this?
Heβll be back next month. He just has a few things going on.

Did anyone track the fhg project
I have been a few days behind in updating also need to tidy it up a bit can post if anyone wants it
Here you go - I only have 58 Games tracked to date, running at a small loss with goals after 15 and 20 mins but wouldn't take much to turn round as we get the number of games up to 100+
-
Sorry to see Darri go. He was very helpful especially to me getting me back on track.
