Not so good today. I imagine there's still something in this but until the stats software is here this is just taking me too long at the moment

Save me trawling through the thread( being a lazy git) what strategy was you using . I have tried scalping the horse racing markets 10mins from the off and not making any money. The ltf strategy seems a non profitable strategy in the long run so scratching my head being a novice with horse racing what to get involved in?

It was an experiment on horses listed in winning warlock as shortening well inplay over their last 5 races. Based on their average inplay price during this time as well as current price and forecast I was attempting to discern an entry point for each horse as a straight lay.

Too time consuming when I'm doing everything manually though and with football comiing back heavy it begn to get very hectic. Will see if I can work something out when we have the horse stats.

Today's Johnson runners - I have removed all the novice / maidens but kept all the handicaps in as wanted to get a feel for overall data rather than my selective approach - multiple runners in races isn't ideal but only paper trading so no harm done.

    Sunday's M Johnston selections.

    Results
    Glenties - BSP 13.6 / Low 8.2
    Cardsharp BSP 40.79 / Low 12.00
    Flylikeaneagle BSP 21.01 / Low 15.5
    Pretty Lady BSP 3.47 / Low 4.8
    Salamanca School BSP 4.03 / Low 3.05

Early results are suggesting this is not a dobbing strategy (6 wins / 9 Losses overall) - however 14 of the 15 selections have shortened in-running. The only one that didn't was a fancied runner who missed the break and was very slowly away.

Richard....maybe just look at a fixed entry point regardless of what they have traded in the past?

What did you find out from inputting data into proform?

Still looking at it....problem with ProForm is that it is so complicated and there is so much data to go through and you can only run this type of analysis the day before or the day of the race.

Think it will be a lot easier for me to get into the meat of this when horse racing stats up.

A good point. May be quicker. Main problem is the site I'm working from is not updating until early hours of the morning or I have to do it in the day and that just brings a lot of glaring in my general direction haha!!

@martin-futter Dobbing should have read 2/4 - and is flat / level overall - however all 10 so far since experiment started have traded shorter in-running - so definetly something in it, just have to get more data and tweak strategy i reckon.

    Friday's Results
    West End Girl = BSP 9.9 - Low 4.1
    Vale Of Kent = BSP 6.44 - Low 5.6
    Dark Regard = BSP 12.8 - Low 10.00

    1 win / 2 loss if Dobbing (all 3 shortened somewhat in-running)

    Notes:
1 horse missed break and another employed a change of tactics where another Johnston runner won the race, these things happen and even races didn't go to plan, interesting to note - all 6 selections so far have shortened in-running somewhat. (Dobbing 3 winners / 3 losers)
