@alan-steward well done.did similar myself in sprint races.I believe that all the races for next while will be utterly competitive and sprints 5 and 6 furlongs should be lucrative for Ltf.

LTF at Newcastle
14:10 - 2 matched @ 1.81
15:55 - 2 matched @ 1.81 -
@cyril-reaney Excellent and thanks for your response

Hi Alan
NH refers to National Hunt rules which is Jump racing. The National Hunt season will re commence in the U K in July. The season reaches a peak each year with big festivals at Cheltenham and Aintree and normally ends at Sandown in late April. Weights and distances differ from flat races quite a bit and big difference between summer jumping and from approximately Oct 1st.This is when the best N H horses start appearing.
Good luck -
@richard-lillis Hi Richard, I've noticed the abbreviation NH used before but it means? I suspect I'll get that stupid feeling when you explain lol.
Also what is your preferred strategy with horse trading?
-
2nd Race clear favourite not in the top 2 and another very tight finish didn't trade the last one as the favourite was under evens though

Now that winning warlock is back I wanted to start tracking an idea I mid lockdown idea I had about laying the rated horses on there for their average in-running price. No money down on this but should be fairly easy to track wiith timeform.
I've added 10% to each average so far but of course I can look and play around with these numbers as results come in.
That makes sense. Still, I'm sure everyone understands haha!
I just thought I'd take a quick look at the difference between mean ave price and median ave prices in case there are some big outliers and it makes a hell of a difference on the first. With that in mind I'll track both. Median ave for Geizy Teizy is 2.98 or 3.10 when I add 10% to that.
Make that 3.85. Teething troubles.

Just done a test at ltf inplay in the Newcastle at 13.00pm at 1.37 odds. 2 matched which was good. I think the favourite horses will need a few races to get their fitness and form back and think races could be tighter for a little while.

@dan-erridge hi mate - i don't set a target as it all depends on whether the race is panning out as expected, i like to be flexible. My normal races to trade are NH races where you have plenty of time to react to how the race is unfolding. These trades today will be small stakes and quite conservative. I have Dobbed in the past but found that it wasn't flexible enough for my style of trading.
-
3 Horses i will be looking to get 33% from today are
1.00pm Tiercel
3.55 Taste The Nectar
4.30 Be Proud (will monitor price as fairly short) -

@charles-cartwright I will be sticking around my good man and hoping to find an edge with the horses to add to my trading portfolio. So if you have any ideas other than the LTF strat I can get my head around it would be much appreciated

Great to see racing return but of course 'caveat emptor' in spades for the first few weeks. Since my B2L approach relies on a horse having run in the past 45 days I won't be posting any of those selections for a while.
I will probably restrict myself to some 'follow the market' backing and laying a bit little in April for the start of the turf season. Of course with no NH racing it will be slim pickings for a while but hopefully things will pick up as we head into summer.
Hope all of those who have joined the thread in the past couple of months will stick around and post your ideas, successes, and failures with those of us for whom racing is our primary interest as far as trading goes.

Roll on looking forward to trying some pre race trading as the liquidity will be massive I would have thought.
-
Thanks Richard.Great to have racing back.A lot of unknowns until we get a week or 2 under our belts.

Going to get involved at Newcastle tomorrow with small stakes, due to the fact my main area of focus is NH racing + lack of recent form.
4.30 Queen Of Kalahari (currently 11/1 with bookies / 18 bf for pennies)
5.05 Bo Samraan (currently 16/1 with bookies / 15.5 bf for pennies)I will be looking for these to shorten in-running.
