I was just wondering if anyone on here has dabbled aroudn with Greyhound trading, specifically Lay the Beaten Fav?

I'm thinking of pulling a strategy together and testing it, but was interested to see if anyone else had tried it and had any success. Liquidity in the greyhound markets is a concern, but perhaps placing the bet right before the off might mitigate against that.

@Greg-Mitchell Hi Greg. Bit cheeky, but wondered if you’d be willing share the historical excel data for Monmore, Newcastle and Romford? I have been running some lay strategies on BFBM but would like to back test my theories.

@Greg-Mitchell Morning Greg, I was just wondering if you had chance to pull off one of the example spreadsheets with Nottingham Track data?

@Greenie I didn’t even contemplate trying it myself.. old dog new tricks and all that.. I’ll stick to what I know and pay somebody to do what I don’t.

@Greg-Mitchell I've had a look at trying to convert he raw data through a script myself some months back. I'm not going to lie, it fried my brain!

@Nick-Mulvey I downloaded it all from Betfair and then got someone to write a script to extract it and put it in the right format for me (coz thats way over my head).

@Greg-Mitchell oh nice, where did you get all that data? Interested to see how someone else is analysing it all

@Nick-Mulvey I have broken it all down further, so looking at first 4 favs individually rather than the Fav and the Not Fav. Also stopped breaking it down by Grade, just Course and distance now.

@Greg-Mitchell Awesome, I do love all that stats analysis. Just having a little look at the data you shared in the spreadsheet a while ago now. Seeing how it can be used.

@Nick-Mulvey Its a constantly moving feast. Improving every day, although I think (he says optimistically) that I am nearing the end of analysing and whittling and staking plan deciding.

@Greg-Mitchell Wow, you certainly have collected a lot of data! How is it still going for you? Have you still continued wittling down the strategies you're using?

    Evening all,

Apologies for posting the initial thread then going off the radar. I've had alot going on lately so haven't had too much time to check in here.

I have to say it's great seeing all of your input, particularly @Greg-Mitchell who I can see has put some serious effort in, hats off to you!

I don't suppose you have your example spreadsheet for Nottingham track do you?

@Greg-Mitchell Hi Greg, thanks for the effort i appreciate you doing it between tootles the taxi pick ups!. i think i have found the information on Betfair under historical data and there is a free option ( not quite sure what the other options benefits are where you have to pay professional and Pro) but i will klick on the free version and maybe do 3 years worth of data and see what happens

@Greg-Mitchell Legend! Just had a quick look and that's already helped me fix an error I've had with one of my horse bots trying to have different criteria for different stalls. Will look closer later tonight. Thank you so much for that!

@james-everard This is a sample of my Excel analysis for Monmore 2022. The file is too big to send if I include all tracks etc.

    Hope you understand it.
