HI EVERYONE I AM NEW TO THE FOOTBALL FORUM
-
Hello, my name is Vinny
I have been a member for about 6 months now. I feel that I am really going to give football trading a good go, feeling excited about the journey and finally getting involved with the forum now.
I have been testing a number of football set and forget strategies, and feel that its now time to share my work with you all. I hope that my spreadsheet can help others, and maybe give some of the members some ideas.
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Thanks for reading this and I look forward to getting involved with the forum.
Keep up the great work. -
@Vince-Kavanagh July wasn't great for my presets this year, may be because those leagues are ending
-
Hi everyone,
I have been putting some more data in my spreadsheet, also tweaked a few things in the strategies. Julys results are updated in the first sheet. Not a good month, only 1 strategy out of the 6 was green, but there wasn't an absolute disaster either.
My thinking behind the bad month is that maybe the summer leagues are not good for my strategies. so will probably leave July next year or just trade the under 1.5 goals.
Any feedback would be great, hopefully my spreadsheets can help some of you also. Thanks.

@Vince-Kavanagh should have been three qualifers in argentina today for the under 1.5 fh goals , but the stats software not showing fh or sh stats therefore missing from the filer @Adam

@Ryan Hi Ryan, I watched that video that you attached and it really helped, thank you. I just need to be more streamlined with my work, that in turn will make me more organised and it will feel less chaotic. Also hopefully by doing this will provide better returns.
-
@Vince-Kavanagh I 100% come from the school of less is more, keep it simple so that it's easier to track and easier to do.
Too much is often harder to manage, I speak about this a lot in this video:
I speak about one strategy here get it right, if you are using some kind of tool to automate then you can always do more as tech does a lot of the heavy lifting for you.

@Terry-Heller Hi Terry. I will try and get the last 100 or 150 games first goal times when I get some spare time, (itβs my sons prom tonight ). I will add another column.
Would that help? I will input it on my original sheet. Also can you see my sheets as they get updated? like I can with yours. Because I donβt know if I have done that right Thanks.Going back over the data of 100/150 games would be a lot of work. It is probably easier just to include it moving forward.
I havent actually checked your original sheet for updates as I based everything of the copy that I made. It is on my 'to do' list now as it will give me something to compare against.
I have never used Bet Angel so I can't really say anything about that. I use Fairbot as it seemed to be the cheap option and so far it does pretty much what I want it to do.
-
@Ryan Hi. Do you think I should only focus on the strategies that are looking good? Because if you look at my spreadsheet it looks like there is to much going on at once, (lots of pages a fair bit of data) I have put *** next to the ones that I think will be my main ones going forward. 5 strategies in all. Should I put the the others on the back burner maybe. It can get confusing with to much going on. What do you recommend? Thanks.

@Ryan Hi Ryan. Yes I agree, the help on the forum after just 1 week has been great. I should have done it earlier, but I did want some strategies and data to offer the forum. Really pleased how we are getting improvements already. Great work
-
@Terry-Heller Hi Terry, it would have been a good idea putting the time of the first goal in hindsight, but going forward the cash out option is interesting. Really impressed with all the work that you have done, itβs improved the strategy immensely. What software do you use to create your bots? Down the line I was thinking about bet angel? What do you think?
-
@Vince-Kavanagh I think that's one of the key things with this community, they way we have built it, people want to help.
-
Added a new column to see how cashing out if still 0-0 at 22 minutes works out. I will try and set a bot to do this in simulation mode and see what the actual returns are. Rows 5-24 are guessed apart from the those showing full stake lost and those showing full amount won. In these games the first goal was before 22 mins so no cash out available.
Row 25 was the cashout price in the one I watched before I had this idea.
So far so good and it is all down to your work in keeping the records for so long Vinny. The one thing that would have made your spreadsheet better would have been the time of the first goal in all the matches

I have edited the filter to this to try and capture more selections. Though I will also retain your original to reference against.
I have tidied up the tabs on my copy of the spreadsheet so it is clear what each one is showing(well it is to me lol)
Going forward I will only update the last tab titled U80/O2.8New so that the original data stays intact for reference as to whether the edited filter has had an adverse effect on things

@Terry-Heller it looks like a great idea, as you say the odds can change over the course of the day. What you have done with the tweaks, has made a losing over strategy into a potentially solid ROI return unders strategy.
-
Hi Vinny
I am pretty confident that going forward that Backing U1.5 at odds over 2.8 where the O1.5 % is between 75 and 79 is what I will track. One problem is having a minimum betfair odds in the filter will mean that when the filter is run at different times of the day selections will vary depending on bf prices at that moment.
I am considering changing that filter to greater than or equal to 1 so it will show all possible qualifiers then manually excluding those that are a long way off of being qualifiers.
What do you think?
-
Hi ladies and gentlemen, I have just had a look at the new spreadsheets that you have done on the under 1.5 goals, with the odds tweak and other tweaks, great work look very promising.

@Terry-Heller Nice work. Filtering for odds >=3 gives a slight improvement in both return and ROI from 75 fewer selections, making life a little easier still, perhaps.
Yes there is lots of potential to refine this particular strategy. By keeping the original intact it will get to the 1000 selection mark relatively soon and that will make analysis pretty sound.
