Bet Angel Automation Thread
-
@peter-backhouse-0 I personally have BetAngel running on a VPS, that way I dial in from wherever I am on my mobile and populate my automation rules/selections each day. I find it is always handy to keep an eye on it throughout the day without having to be physically at my PC. I suppose you could also remote desktop to your own PC or laptop instead though.

@Peter-Backhouse-0 BA needs to be open, The bot is just like you being at your computer and clicking the selections. On my laptop I have set the power to stay on with the lid closed, that way I have to make a conscious decision to open it and look at things.
I created a new bot last night and tested it in practice mode today and everything fired off correctly, quite chuffed with myself. Now if I could only figure out how to re-organise the runners at a certain point in time and keep them there that would make life so much easier for me.
-
I don't think sleep mode would be a good idea Peter. I set mine to blank out the screen after 5 mins and it works fine.
-
Hi Richard, I loaded your new Ryan's split stake bot yesterday on demo mode and again today on live mode but it doesn't trigger. Just £1 Stakes. But I think I probably selected the wrong market.
I selected correct score. What one should have I selected? Also, when I select correct score, I have option's like, 1-0, 2-0 etc,.. I'm not sure which one to select. So, I just left it blank.Cheers

Sorry for all the questions, with Betangel, once you have opened it and populated the races in guardian with the rules file attached, do you then have to keep BA open on your computer? is it ok if the computer goes into sleep mode and BA will still work? Thanks.
-
@simon-topper Hi Simon, thank you for your reply. yesterday when I set the bot up, I watched it on the first selection to make sure it was working how it should be, and it did indeed do as it should. but when I checked the bot about an hour later, no other selections had been placed, any ideas why that would be? I then nominated the horses in the nomination box, and seemed to work fine from there. Thanks.
-
No need to select a horse, the software picks out the favourite automatically, see the applies to selection
-
@tom-2 Thank you. I’ll see if anyone with more experience could shed some light on it.
-
As I said, I'm just a novice myself but as I understand it, if you select the "Back The Favourite strategy", I think it'll override the selection anyway. Depending on what is the favourite at the start.
Possibly someone with more experience can give you a better answer.

I've just put the nominations of the horses in each box, and it did work as it should, I then checked the rest of the nominations and noticed a fav had swapped with the original fav In one of the selected horses, what happens in this instance? Thanks.
-
@tom-2 I've just checked my P/L on Betfair and only race has been placed, which is the first race when I checked if it was working, nothing else after that has been fired in. Do I need to go and nominate each horse in the nomination box? Thanks.
-
@peter-backhouse-0 Sometimes that happens. Guardian doesn't always pickup the runners.
I setup all mine up the night before and in the morning the nomination box is usually populated. I wouldn't worry about it.
The auto script takes care of every thing else. If it doesn't get matched, then there's no bet. -
@tom-2 Hi Tom, I've assigned the rule to each of the races, however, there is nothing selected in the nomination box. I just watched the first selection to see if it worked, and it fired a £1 back bet on 10 seconds before the race, on the fav. I think that is correct, do we need to put something in the nomination box? as I thought the automation part would take care of finding the fav and placing the bet? I may be wrong though, I havn't used automation before. Thanks.
-
@peter-backhouse-0 You need to assign a rule and select a nomination as.
-
@tom-2 Hi Tom, thank you for that. I have changed to £1 stakes, don't think I am ready for £500 stakes just yet . Thank you for the videos, I will go and watch them now. Thanks again.
-
@peter-backhouse-0 Just leave it as is! But change your stake. Otherwise the sh*t will really hit the fan.
-
@peter-backhouse-0
I just use the one pinned above Peter and then go to "horse racing stats" and download the ones for today.
And yes, change the stake. I've set mine for £1 stakes and so far I'm in a nice profit. I've been trading it for about a week now, so I'm no expert.
If it continues to be profitable for the rest of April, I'll up it to £2 stakes. There's also training videos there and also here by Adam:

@simon-topper I've just checked the rules file, and it was set for a £500 back bet, good job I checked it first
-
@simon-topper in the automation rules 1 column it has back the favourite, should that be it now then? Thank you.
-
@peter-backhouse-0 if you slide the bar at the bottom along you should see the automation rule column.
