Uruguay have looked awful and Ghana have looked good, yet Uruguay are odds on here!
Uruguay are too short, I would have this match priced much closer to 2.7 on both teams.
Be weary that a draw may suit Ghana if Portugal don't lose to South Korea.
Watch the game and see how motivated each team looks!
South Korea v Portugal
Will Portugal ring the changes here now that they are through?
Maybe France's loss will put them off but I can't see them going full throttle here with such a quick turn around to the next game.
If South Korea start well they may be worth a back, a draw is no use to them and they will need to go big for a win.
Cameroon v Brazil
Brazil have been quietly getting the job done.
1.43 is short here though given they don't need to win, or draw, to go through.
If Cameroon look lively or you get wind that Brazil have made a few changes lay Brazil.
Serbia v Switzerland
Odds are about the same on both teams here and I agree with this given that Serbia need to win.
Serbia have been really disappointing so far but they are the ones definitely need the win.
If either teams looks on top I will back them in this one.
Important to remember:
1. If you get into a good green position take it!
2. Draw no bet is a good option today in games where draws suit one team more than the other (Think Croatia v Belgium)
3. It's been all about momentum, if a team is on top and good odds take it!

So here we are the final round!
Is it me or has this World Cup gone really quickly?
I think I prefer it at a busy time of year, means I'm not waiting all day for the footie, esp these 10am starts!
Maybe the 10am starts are gone now though, long live the 3pm kick offs?!
Let's go:
Ecuador v Senegal - The battle for second place in the group should be a good game. Odds are about right here, this will be a pure momentum play, watch and see who is dominant and back them.
Netherlands v Qatar - Netherlands are a short price here but I wouldn't be a layer! Maybe hope they go a goal down and back them, they will surely want to win the group and play Iran, USA or Wales.
Iran v USA - I think Iran are being a bit disrespected here, I would have the USA very marginal favs, problem is Iran don't need to win but they cannot afford to lose. If Iran look well on top they will be worth a back but I wouldn't go heavy.
Wales v England - Surely England need to win this match? Can't really trust them at the moment not to play for a draw. I will leave this one unless something sticks out like a sore thumb (maybe some Welsh resistance making that 9.0 look tempting!)
The true key today will be watching the games, which teams look like they want to win. Will momentum keep flip flopping after goals? This World Cup has been a dream for traders so far in that regard. Also, look for goals markets, does a goal look likely? I'm not going to try and guess those prematch in this round.
Remember, I say this all the time but just incase you forgot, when you get into a good green position take the profit or at least remove all liability. You could have backed all outcomes in the Cameroon v Serbia game yesterday and taken a big green at somepoint in the match!

How will I be trading the World Cup matches?
The main strategy I have had success with in the past is backing a first half goal around the 20 minute mark when the match looks lively, especially in the group stages where games tend to be more open that the knock-outs.
Why do I do this?
Well I have found that the markets often do not expect a first half goal in many of these games due to the tighter nature of international football.
So you can often get juicy odds of around or even above evens on a first half goal at 20 mins.
At those odds if a match looks like it is open enough to have a goal in the first half, then it would be rude not to back it!
It's all about value in this spot.
How do I know which matches to enter?
What is the 'Eye Test' telling me? Does the match look likely to have a goal in the next 20-25 minutes?
Have there been a couple of chances early on, is it clear that the teams aren't just playing tight football trying not to concede?
These are the key questions you need to ask in this situation.
I will be aiming to write daily previews on matches during the World Cup, so look forward to more advice in the coming month!
