Betfair Football Trading Courses

The comments from the guys above are exactly why we created this community, they have taken the ethos we have created... embraced it and asked for help when they needed and and more importantly took the answers away reflected on them and come back with more specific questions - which took them a step closer to where they ultimately wanted to get to.
@Rupen-Shah I think in the answers to this Q you have some seriously good advice here which if you take on board you will learn a hell of a lot from. The guys on here will help you but you won't be spoon fed, you will be pushed and your current thought process will be challenged but get your head on the right thought process....
Start with one master it, then you will become the trader that you want to be.

Couldn’t agree more with the comments in here. I only started trading (very badly) about a year ago and joined BTC in March last year. I still consider myself a newbie, I have lots to learn, especially on the mental side. But following the advice from the guys in the community I’m exponentially better than I was this time last year.
I have learned the same way the guys below have said, I picked one strategy in one sport, then moved on. I started with second half lay the draw taking advice and asking questions in the football forum. Then when the football season finished in May, I turned my attention to tennis and traded 1 statergy in tennis for months. I recorded my results, analysed them, then improved it. In the summer I was still trading lay the draw in the summer football leagues alongside the tennis and got comfortable with that, and then started my under 2.5 testing in August.
So in my first 6 months I traded 2 strategies and had started on my 3rd. Yeah I followed some of the other threads like the cricket and racing to make a bit of money on the way (it’s hard not to lay the draw when Luke or Richard post) but all my time went into those strategies.
You’ll get there mate, just takes time and discipline. I’m nowhere near “there” yet, but feel like I’m well on my way. -
Correct @Chris-Watts
There is no quick fix. Trying to run before you can walk. We've all been there. Discipline is of paramount importance is this game. I don't expect everyone to have it, but I do expect people to work on it. It can be mastered.
I also don't think it matters what training course you do. I don't think you'll learn anything different to what you can learn here. All they will do is reinforce what you've heard before.
There is no secret sauce. Trading is as simple as you make it. Mastering One market, on One Sport, at a time - You can get there.
It's not the markets or the analysis, or even the execution that is the problem. Unsuccessful inconsistent trading is normally down to one factor - YOU!
Get your head in the game. You can do this @Rupen-Shah

Hi Rupen, I've noticed your posts on the various parts of the forum over the last few weeks and the one below regarding an explanation of all member filters kind of confirms what Id begun to think about where you're at in the trading journey. I cant help but feel your current approach is to wide. What I mean by that is you want to learn about everything and understand everything. I get that, we have all been like that at some point with our trading.
However in the spirit of this community I want to help you and I hope you can take this in the spirit its intended - you really need to reign it in and start with something that is isolated. Pick something, say first half goals as an example - build some of your own filters to highlight games that are likely to have first half goals, paper trade those selections, record the results, refine the filters based on the outcomes of what you record and then focus on becoming profitable at that on a consistent basis. Once you have this nailed down it can tick over and provide some increases to your bank whilst you start the process again on another hypotheses. Keep repeating that process until you have as many successful strategies as you feel you need.
If you do this, you will learn exponentially more than you would from any course plus you will have saved yourself the course fee! the community can then help you better because you will be working on something specific.
This is by and large the same process that all of the successful traders on here will have taken - you see this in real terms on a consistent basis. @Martin-Futter Martin posts his unders strategy which was derived from the same process as I describe. @Frode-Lia posts his selections in a group of different genres, he will have tested them and refined them and now shares them for the good of the community. @Ryan-Carruthers shares his over 1.5 split stake strategy and has done videos about how he got to that rationale. @Keith-Anderson shares his LTD and FHG - again he will have used a filter and refined it. @Simon shares his selections int he same way. I also share my selections on a thread detailing how and why i trade them.
This is the way its done, no shortcuts.

@martin-futter while you are doing that it would be good to have an explanation of all the member filters
-
@martin-futter Great idea Martin, i do think you are right, all the information is on here but i do find it hard to navigate what im looking for sometimes.

we are actually recording a training series for members that will hopefully make it easier for new traders learn the game in a clear and cohesive way! most of the content is already on the site but we are hoping to help people find it in an easy way, as a lot of people seem to miss the absolute gold on the site.

@ryan-carruthers
@rupen-shahI agree with Ryan, choose a forum or community like this one 'OR' a trading course, they both have some merit in the learning process. You don't need both though, although I know just how easy it is to get caught up in the excitement & anticipation when you first look into the idea of trading. I wanted to know as much as possible from every angle I could find, I watched so many videos, read so many books, browsed so many forums. The big proplem with looking everywhere is you can easily end up with too much information. I know that for sure, I remember looking at potential football trades one weekend and a match came up which was a sure fire O1.5 game, it was also a home win match & an away win match, it also had a good chance of being a draw.
A game like that only ever comes when you have too much information, too many 'systems' & way too much time on your hands.
My suggestion is pick a sport & a strategy you like, then concentrate on it, make it work, then try to make it work better. Make some rules for it, particularly in regards to staking (only use money you can afford to lose & don't need for anything else) & use your idea to pick the games, don't just jump in on any old game because it looks like it might bring a winning trade. Have your potential trades ready well before the start time (hours or days, not minutes) then use team news to refine those selections.
The great thing is, there are plenty of possible strategies right here on BTC. -
@rupen-shah
Hi,
What is the desired outcome of doing the course? I believe that we have everything you need right here in the community...
We have some of the best football traders around and they are more than happy to help. If you are thinking that this course will give you the secret sauce to profit on Betfair I am afraid it won't - no course will, trading is hard work.
Think about the markets you like to trade in, come up with a hypothesis around these and ask for help on your ideas the members and myself will help you create a profitable filter.
Trading doesn't have to be complicated look at what the guys do on the football thread, they keep it super simple and they make serious profits.
