Do we have any golf trading gurus in here?

I had a bit of success last year trading PGA tournaments but as with all my trading I don’t think I have it as clean as it could be.

My primary strategy is to review players against the course and highlight players I expect to struggle. I then wait for the 1st round to play out and look for any of the players I’ve identified who are close to cut line and roughly 4 strokes outside Top 20. If I have a match I Lay them. Review at end of 2nd Round. More often than not they miss the cut and all is good however should they make the cut I keep an eye on them and get out if need be at a pre determined exit point.

The obvious pitfalls of this strategy is you are often laying at high-ish odds.

The PGA tour kicks off tomorrow with the Sentry Open. My strategy won’t work on this tournament as it is only a 34 man tournament and obviously as such no cut in this tournament.

A couple of things I will be looking out for in this tournament:

    1. Bryson DeChambeau to not perform as well as expected. Currently can lay at $1.40 for Top 20 finish. May come in further

    2. Keegan Bradley looks undervalued. I expect him to perform well and think strong Top 10 potential. Currently $3.75 for Top 10.

I think I’ll see how the 1st Round plays out before doing anything rash.

I am a keen golfer and have traded it a little bit more for fun than anything, but always looking at it.

I agree with you on Bryson, I love him and his swing but I don't agree with all the hype around him.
