@john-folan Incredible timing from you there! Just a day or so before the brexit party announce they won't stand in existing Tory seats. It won't be long before the crowd are chanting "are you Nigel in disguise!"

Mad hey? I have to say he’s getting on my nerves at the moment. I have to turn him of LBC as he sounds too much like a smug git lately. Shame as he was alright a few years ago.

    Ok ladies here we go.

Will scalp Tory majority price downwards.

Here’s the biggy. Tories to get more than 340 seats. Labour are utterly imploding. A small cover of 330-339 to protect stake.

@john-folan yup, well done to those who stayed in!!

Looking at mine, I think my problem was staking an amount which I wasn’t prepared to lose in full so I had to take a stop loss when the odds moved against me. That’s fine for most sporting events when the likelihood of an outcome is much more predictable and you can plan for the moment to take a stop loss but in something like this when anything and everything can happen and the odds will yo-yo massively it was pretty daft. So lesson learnt for me and my losses were minimal. Time to regroup for election trading!

Agreed. I wouldn’t have left anything on if it wasn’t profit. These things turn on the drop of a dime. Agreed. It’s going to be an interesting (and hopefully profitable) few weeks.

I've chickened out of the 2019 election market and taken a loss. The only thing parliament seem to want right now is to undermine BJ so it seems unlikely to me he will get his way this year. Frustrating thing is that I had the chance to take a profit after the market dropped to about 1.5 when Boris announced his plan for an election yesterday but I got greedy and stayed in. Knowing when to get out of a trade seems to be my biggest problem so my decision to take a hit today is probably wrong too!

Cutting losses is a hard thing to do. I’m having a tentative back of a 2019 election. Corbyn may well have been backed into a corner by Johnson and also ironically the EU.

@will-b Thats an excellent point on the DUP, they are pros at this they would have gone in strong too.

I agree with @John-Folan, I will also be backing the election. I can see it being a good market to trade.

@ryan-carruthers I think they would love to say no! If I were them I would be seriously looking at conditions to attach to the extension which would force the UK into pulling our fingers out and making a decision. I wonder if they'll state that this is the final extension, that might focus a few minds. Whatever they say it looks like the odds on an election will come in as soon as they agree to the extension so I'm with @John-Folan on backing a 2019 election.

If the extension is to beyond 31 Jan 2020 then I wonder if this could push an election into next year so I'll aim to get out quickly (hopefully still at a profit!) if this is the case.

In hindsight we should have sent the DUP in to negotiate Brexit from day one. They have 50+ years of hard nosed negotiating experience and whatever deal they came out with they would have to vote for

Remainers would have epileptic fits. Looks like election this year could be on. I’ve backed awaiting the EU decision on extension.

Very true, very much so. Bumped into an old teacher of mine recently he sacked it off because of these kind of things he said.
