@will-b 30 years ago parents would moan at their child for not showing respect to teachers. Now a days the parents would prob coming into school and moaning that their child was made to write a post card.
How times have changed.
-
When I was a kid I went away on a school trip for a week and the teachers made us all write a postcard. The content of my postcard basically said “I’m only writing this because the teacher made me”. If only I could have told my parents that in 30 years time the PM of Britain would be doing exactly the same thing my parents might not have given me so much grief!
-
@ryan-carruthers He sent a photocopy of the Benn letter unsigned. The man is a legend. Personally I would have written it in Crayon, with pictures. But then I am a complete child lol
-
Boris has sent three letters. I bloody love this bloke. He’s causing chaos and I can’t wait to see what falls out of the tree over the next few days. I smell money.
-
I did that yesterday, locked it out and moved on. I saw another trader on SM banging on about how he was going to ride it out and I think this market is going to fly one way or the other just like @Will-B says.
Cannot wait to be able to trade politics again though!
-
@will-b funny enough nope. Taken my profit and going to watch what our moron politicians can do to mess the country up tomorrow with a glass of wine and a bucket of green.
-
@john-folan are you still hanging in there? The 31st October leave market seems to have been moving in your favour as you predicted. I'm loving watching it react to news but I'm not sure if I would have the balls to keep in there right now if I had much liability on either side. As soon as the ERG's intentions are announced (or leaked) the market will surely zoom one way or the other
-
Price for a 31st October leave date is coming in nicely. Riding it like a front runner in the national.

@John-Folan do you have any opinions on the 2020 US election? Wondering who is likely to win the Democratic Party nomination.
Early money is on Biden. I quite fancy Bernie Sanders but I don’t think either of those will win. They will go for a female person who is a minority to fit their agenda.
-
Also thinking about this as the thread picture. Don’t really care what people’s politics are, that was embarrassing yesterday.
-
Well it looks like November for an election If I am reading it right. You can cover off November and December quite nicely and also have a speculative on October as well. Watching the mood music and going on the referendum it's probably worth backing a tory majority and taking a few ticks profit as the price comes in too. Labour have no chance with their wishy washy policy and the craziness that has come out of their conference this week. Will probably have a sneaky lay of no overall majority as well.
-
And this morning it’s all change. Government ending its opposition to the bill. It will pass through Lords by 5pm Friday. Johnson to have another vote on Monday for an election.
This changes faster than a five furling sprint at Chelmsford!!
-
It’s all kicking off. The filibuster starts here. The extra amendment added could cause a problem. Election will either be agreed to early next week or after the conference season. This is madness.
-
Prorogue has been ruled legal. That will have an effect on things
-
Wobbling a bit on the election stuff but I cannot see how we will not have one this year. Boris pulled the whip on 21 MP’s last night.
He will filibuster the remainer bill in the House of Lords and Labour will be screaming for an election when he does that.
Government peers have tabled 86 amendments to a business motion put forward by remainer peers. Each one has to be debated and voted on twice. No one has noticed this in the MSM yet. Wait till the penny drops....

@john-folan think we may have to start calling you our Politics trading expert!
Just trying to call what I see rather than what I want to see. Looks like Corbyn is up for a general election judging from his twitter page this morning. All down to the votes today and tomorrow now.
Twitter is a good place to judge the mood and you get to see polls quicker on there too.
