@martin Interesting, like the look at the top 2. Although I'm a Dallas fan, would have us and the Patriots both around evens I guess the home advantage is pushing the cowboys price down.
Agree with the Bills they look a class above most teams especially in the AFC other than the Ravens. The NFC is wide open
-
This is very much experimental and only back any of these if they concur with your thoughts but I'm testing out some picks that I deem to be value this season:
Chargers @ 2.42 vs Ravens - This should be evens for me
Cardinals @2.5+ vs Browns - Again this is a coin toss for me
Cowboys @1.58 vs New England - Marginal one here but I have this at 1.5 at best so slight value.
Bills @ 1.45 vs Titans - I'd have this at 1.33, Bills look the real deal.Like I say these are value for me because of the prices not because any of them are dead certs.
Chargers are the biggest value gap for me here and Bills are the ones I would be most confident on.

You can sense it in the crowd as well can't you?
Even though it's sold out, the crowd seems to get a bit flat.
I think the issue with the crowd is you get a lot of neutrals who support other teams. Majority of the crowd yesterday would have been wearing other jerseys!
This is definitely true. You can usually complete your I Spy NFL shirts book and send off for your badge before the games even kicked off

@martin the point is Martin that the novelty value will wear off the product needs to be better
Yesterday’s match was over as a spectacle after 2 minutes
I agree with you but we are only ever going to get home teams who have Supebowls. So Miami, Tampa, LA etc

@matt-ayles I think the Dolphins thing is Marino + Florida, Brits love to go to Florida when they go to America. Tampa and Jags are expansion teams so don't really have the same iconic appeal of the Dolphins, even though we have done nothing for 20 years.

So we have the first of two games at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium today in the Jets v Falcons, with the Jags and Dolphins in a couple of weeks.
However, we have the four worse teams in the NFL for these two games and I have to question the long term future of the games in London if this is the standard of teams we’re going to get.
They may be great games but that’s not the point
It's the NFL in London, we can't really complain. It sells out every year in fact the Dolphins v Jags game could have sold out 3 times over looking at the waiting list when tickets went on sale!
Think the Packers need to come over to complete the set of teams but it's quite impressive that all 31 other teams have played here now.
-
I think they also need to sort the commentary out as well! lol
The way the BBC did the hundred I thought was amazing for me who's not really into cricket - I picked it up quick and really enjoyed it!
Fine line between making it to simple and condescending though.
I agree we need more competitive games - I've been to a lot of the games and the steelers v vikings one was the best, because it wasn't a white wash (I know you can't predict these things though!)
-
The Jags are affiliated but it’s not an endless contract, NFLUk needs to insist on a better standard of games, going forward.
The NFL are already looking at holding games in Germany which will reduce the amount of games we stage
It’s only going to be a matter of time before fans take exception at the quality on offer if there is a repeat of the offering next year especially in few of how expensive the games are not just tickets but transport, food, accommodation etc if necessary,
NFLUk have got away with it this year as there we’re no games last year but the days of 4 matches a year are over and they need to look at quality of the product on offer.
I’m desperate to go to one of these games again but I need to see a better standard of team before committing. Other than the Dolphins who were ok last year but pretty dire this, the other three teams would not have tempted me this year when announced

The Jags are the affiliated team aren't they? So they'll have a "home" game in London every year.
There are occasionally bigger franchises but i suspect they do this as us Brits will watch whatever is on offer and fill stadiums that may not be full otherwise?
The Dolphins seem to have a big UK following too as everyone jumped on the bandwagon in the Marino days

@chris-osborne Yep, agree on Rothlesburger as well.
-
@oliver-moore The link up between Chase and Burrow looks massively promising they just need the O Line to protect Burrow unlike last year and they should be fine.
Can't help thinking Rothlesburger should have retired at the end of last season, the steelers look like there going to struggle this season.
its probably a year too early for the Bengals, as the Browns and Ravens look strong inthat division
-
@alastair-todd I'm a long suffering Bengals fan too. Back in the day when the highlights used to be on Channel 4 I liked the tiger stripe on the helmet - no other reason! They are much better this year, the quarterback Burrow has hit the ground running.
