Little flurry of runs. Root 50*, Sri Lanka out to 3.0, green up time and a very nice profit.

@Richard-Futter that's quite the trade I was around 1.62-1.87 … relatively new to test cricket trading . seems to be the number 1 thing market wise notice is can get around 20-30 ticks between wickets at points in matches

That was largely because it was the nightwatchman - rather than a proper batsman - who was dismissed. Also be a bit careful as wickets often fall in quick succession in Test matches. Give it a few overs before looking for the move to reverse.

Signs are that we make around 200 at best on this wicket.

Looks like you could be spot on yet again Luke! As for the reviewing, don't they realise it's very rare for an umpire to give someone out lbw when they're not - unless they've hit it? All reviews lost so it's old school cricket from now on 🙂

What doesn't help Sri Lanka is, Dickwella is very excitable. If England can get 100 lead without losing a wicket, drip backs could well be my play, backing on wicket over reactions as well.

@peter-laverty good call - out from 1.75 to 2.12 in the first half hour despite losing the nightwatchman

Are Sri Lanka a bit short here? The pitch didn't look like a minefield today. Might be a decent day of batting left. England have runs all the way through the order. Any thoughts?

I think they're short at 1.75 and will be looking to lay them tomorrow morning.

For me I can see England 2 down before we even get to nought, sit on my hands time as Sri will drift quickly if there are runs.

Seems a pretty cheap price as is, night watchman and one other top order batsman go early and could build a decent lay position to trade out of. Sri Lanka might well win but I imagine England will fight back to some extent.

Overslept this morning so only seen 20 mins of the England game. But seen enough to say that a draw is out of the question!

    great shout!
