Looks like the worst of the weather has already passed through London. Might be a delayed start but play should start fairly promptly.
I think 1.85 on England looks good value, especially if they bat first and put the pressure on Australia. With overcast conditions, there will be a temptation to insert the opposition but I think that would be a huge mistake.
Afghanistan made that error yesterday. This was a game they might well have won had they batted first. And sides batting first have won the great majority of games so far in the World Cup. So far only one side has successfully chased more than 250 - an astonishing statistic.
Vince worries me, so I won't dive straight in but will certainly be looking to back England if they bat first.
If Australia open, there could be a little early movement for Archer and Woakes but if not Finch and Warner are capable of making a strong start.
Totally agree with Richard here. (as usual!). Certainly want to be on the batting side first but I might watch the first over see if there's much movement then back the Bowling side first up and then switch to the batting side after 10 overs or once the opening bowlers have finished their spells.
The Royal London Cup has a 10.30 start here at Lords also and nearly always has the batting team a few down early doors before becoming a belter later in the day. Obviously if nothing is happening I'll hold tight and then just bat batting side as planned.
Promises to be a cracker either way!

Afghans totally frustrated on a wearing pitch. Only one winner here.

Backing Bang now the spinners are on.

I think AFG made a huge rick in putting the Bangles in - traditionally best to put up a big score rather than chase one at Southampton
That's generally been the case in the whole tournament so far - only one team has successfully chased more than 250!

how's the forecast gents
Looks ok all day according to the met office - BBC say showers at 10
Netweather saying a 15% chance of a storm, although it may well stay dry. Definitely worth keeping an eye on the radar.
-
@dave-jessop prob hoping there 30 overs spin can hold it at bay.. settled batters backing seem to pay a divi tho
-
how's the forecast gents

How's your luck , 310 for a big one. i did remove liability at 1.2 but can't win them all.
i was over 80 runs out yesterday so nice to be closer to the mark today.
-
Come on Pak
-
Taking a position on 310 runs or more
-
was about to say think Pakistan close innings shorter than current odds .., having a back bet 30 tick aim …., annnnd out juicy swing there
-
@richard-futter The quota system hurts them, whilst also having the rand on it's arse. Faf almost took a Kolpak, If they are on £50k a year, a good Kolpak deal probably pays 100k a season certainly Olivier would be on close too that.
That said there is good runs here.

Backing Pakistan at 1.87.
Great start for them - and hope they go on and post 350 - I really don't think the SA bowlers are up to snuff anymore - especially on English wickets and they really need to find a new Pollock - they seem a bit one dimensional with all the pace and no variety like a Kallis coming on to change the rhythm a bit
Trouble is that SA - alone among the top nations - lose lots of their best players to professional cricket in the UK. David Wiese, Kyle Abbott and Duanne Olivier would all be contenders for the squad and would certainly add variety to their bowling. Steyn obviously a major loss through injury too.
