Can I just warn everyone about battering simulation mode. Do not go mad or betfair will restrict your accounts access to the api. You will then need to pay £300 to unlock it.
It’s happened to a fair few people I know as betfair will think you are a corporate gathering data.
Just make sure you cycle money through at some point and you should be fine.

Really enjoying giving @Dave-Jessop greyhound fav bot a go in simulation mode. Some really great results today with an impressive 71.05% strike rate. Using 100% loss recovery. I have been using £1 stakes and max liability £25 and with a losing run of 2 races shows some really promise. Thanks again Dave.

@dave-jessop Not just 30 years but 30 years and still counting........

Ive just been speaking to someone at BFBM and they reckon theres an update soon (end of the month potentially) which will see them sourcing live scores from a third party supplier so the live score will be accurate and reliable (and free to us)
Maybe this timeframe will be as accurate as Smarkets getting API ''very soon'' or the taxi driver ''just on your road now'' but the fact they're working on it is good news

@charles-cartwright thanks Charles, will give it a go.
I missed a nice winner in the first race yesterday due to an outage which has sparked me into action. -

Where are you going? Just curious.
I land in Toronto and get picked up by my friend then off to the Canadian side of Niagara for 2 days then cross the border and drive to Salem, Mass for 3 days the Boston (doing the Fenway tour) and then back to her house in Michigan and various day trips planned including Mackinaw Island and a planetarium in Flint, the Ford museum and travelling to a town called Hell and playing some AC/DC on the way - loads more planned too - I'm there for nearly 4 weeks
.. plus meeting about 100 of her family and friends
Interesting itinerary. Lot of driving.....don't drink the water in Flint

@simon
Should be fine for that and if you need to upgrade later you can.
They provide an excellent service, never any issues.

@Charles-Cartwright I'm looking into giving VPS a trial this week. I know nothing about VPS! I looked at the link you sent and if it comes recommended by yourself then I’m willing to give it a go. Would the cheapest option be sufficient as a starter? I just run Proform and BFBM on my computer, that’s basically all I use it for, and I also use AnyDesk so I can access it from anywhere.

@john-folan Yup - laying the fav with recovery - doing pretty well
If you still have BFBM I can send you the file
Please do mate

How did you split the races Dave for the dog fav bot, tried the add new but cant find the dogs classes cheersI dupliated the dog fav bot and in the market filter rule entered A1, A2, A3, OR, HC in the text box that says "Allow betting on markets ...." - that restricts the bot to those races
In the original bot I entered that A1, A2, A3, OR, HC text in the box marked "Do NOT allow betting on..." so that skips the races covered by the other bot and just triggers on all the other races - just an experiment at the moment and hopefully just increase stakes on the better races and just leave the lesser ones to plod away
So you are laying faves in these markets? What odds range. I’m reading through the thread but my brains fried.
Also what’s the odds range on all other? Going to try and duplicate these in bet angel.

Horse Fav Lay
I was running a test overnight and today of US, AUS, French & SA racing and it made a small profit - using all races with 3000 matched at the off - will run it again for favs 3.0 and over
Bloody PC froze again and lost all data again - now I can't run any VM - tried VirtualBox again and get a message saying windows has to be repaired on that disk and nothing works - going to install Hyper-V again with less memory and virtual drive later
If you guys are really going to make a go of BFBM you really should invest in a VPS. They are not that expensive and you never ever have to worry about losing a trade due to a computer crash.
-
@Dave-Jessop - you running off same drive - is it ssd or hdd?
I would get a sep driver to run your VM's off!

Dogs
So Dogs I am happy with and I think I will go live with these (not sure how I will run a live and Sim system yet ... but one to figure out!) - Just love how they stay green and tap away at the profit and that all I am after.Does this all count as 1 in my portfolio ?????
0-0 , Over 1.5 , fhg
I these as although I have had some good wins - I have also hit some big losses and this I don't feel comfortable with, after all i don't want this just be slow steady and not a roller coaster. So I am playing around with this and will draw a line and start again as doing this randomly will lead to the poor house IMO.Acorns
That huge hit was a head scratcher and i am thinking of perhaps doing a stop at a profit/loss .... so 5 points loss to 2.5 points profit?? thoughts??Horse Fav Lay
This seems to be doing nice and is just going steady - keep an eye on it

I am wanting to set up the same dog bot systems that I have now but on a different laptop and betfair exchange account so I can double the profit I am from the bots without increasing stakes and risking my balance.
I was wondering is this possible?
Would I need to get another bank account (wont be a problem) and also would i need to use a different name to set up another betfair exchange or can I use same name but have a different bank account?@Gary-Brown if you are jus duplicating the same system on another machine and account then you are just increasing your stakes and liability but in a more complicated way.
Unless I’m missing something, why don’t you just increase stakes on your current account? -
@gary-brown You could use a % of your bank as risk and assign the bank amount within BFBOT
-
@dave-jessop Exactly the same ... no loss though lol
-
Thanks Dave so
I would need to set up or take over a betfair exchange account from my brother or a friend to do this. Also would I need a different lap top and a new BFbot manager account also for this to work I guess.

@dave-jessop happened to me on Friday, computer did an update with no warning and shut everything down. Look me a long time to manually update bets from betfair P&L screen!
I don't know if it was VirtualBox that caused it or not but just set up Hyper-V which is a hidden VM in Windows so shouldn't be any conflicts
Raised the Traps to 15p initial liability and hoping I set everything up correctly from scratch as I still haven't sussed out how to connect the VM to my PC or network
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/virtualization/hyper-v-on-windows/quick-start/enable-hyper-v
In case anyone wants to check it out
I have several VM's setup on my server - running linux but same thing.
They will share same internet connection as your PC. If you get into running bots longterm i would get a miro server. I got one from ebay for £110 (HP Microserver) and runs all the time - just need to remote into it.
Side note - something strange happend with my traps yesterday - all of them fired away ... but trap 3!! nothin at all on trap 3?!?! how does that work!
Aldo I have setup a tennis bot that looks at the first set and if a heavy fav loses it backs them to win the 2nd set! Just testing it today a its only picked up 1 yesterday (a winner)
