@Simon-Bates in the example you've given, if Walsall win, you'll lose £60...if it's a draw then the bet is void, and if Walsall lose then you'll win your £10 stake (less commission). Hope this helps!

Morning all, I've been trying and trialing different trades on Betfair the last few weeks just seeing how they work and how I can use them for trading.
I've seen the trade 'draw no bet' I know how this type of bet works but what I can't get my head round is the lay side of it.
I'll use this Walsall game as an example

If I back £10 on Walsall, I'll get £56 if they win, I'll get my £10 back if the game is a draw, and if they lose I'll lose my £10.

I just can't get my head around the lay side, if the game isn't a draw, do I get my stake back, cos the trade is draw no bet, I know it's probably simple but it's giving me a mental block at the moment

Do you prefer to get on early or try and get on 15 mins before or so once the market is fully formed?

@Alex-Rule yeah liquidity has a massive effect on price, if the market is very 'gappy' then chances are the offered price is not a good one, ask for a better one instead.

Still waiting for 8 games to kick in before I start my strategy trading so still playing around with different trades and trying different things.

Seen Barcelona 1 nil down and with 10 men, so layed Monaco, got lucky when Barca scored so took my liability out, guna watch the rest of the game now and if Barca score again I'll cashout, got a free bet now so I'll see what happens.

Hi Martin, in this example it was BTTS set and forget.

When placing your trades in the morn is there a way that might indicate whether you are better off waiting for odds to increase? Or see which way the prices are moving so you can take the right action? Cheers
