@Akiva-Anderson Ha, I was on a FHG in that one. Probably shouldn't push my luck!
Of course you should!

@Akiva-Anderson you have your own agency because of your trading and that's given you freedom to choose the job than have to do it!
Yes!
Also think the attitude of everyone I work with has changed. I'm open and honest about my trading. I never asked for a payrise, all I wanted was to be able to reduce my hours. I wanted a better work / life balance.
My holidays are superb! I'm off for a week in February, a week at Easter, 5 weeks off in the summer, a week at Halloween and two weeks at Christmas.
I think they know I could get up and leave at any point. It is great power to have!
-
@Craig-vaulks Yea I agree with all your points there, they are just masters on that back stretch as well.
Rodri is a total and utter player too.
Anything over 2 with them at that stage would be a great trade, especially as then hopefully we will have a couple of nice moves so it will just be an extra play.

@Ryan it looks decent, I was thinking anything over 2 would be worth keeping an eye on.
Could city be a little complacent at the start after getting the treble last season?
After trying for so long to win the champions league, may have an effect.
I would not be surprised if the league is more more competitive this year in terms of it being more than a 2 horse race could be 3 or 4 for a good while, this time around. -

@Trevor-H Oh, and do you literally make a living at this?
I do indeed. I'm still working part-time. I was hoping to give up working fully (this was my dream) and just concentrate on the trading. But, I don't need too, nor do I think I want to. I actually quite like my job and trading doesn't impinge on my part-time hours.
Weirdly, when I needed this job I hated it. Now that I don't need this job, I'm happier.

@Akiva-Anderson It's hard, isn't it? I mean, is a single season even statistically significant? (The number of games played in it are, of course, but there will be five or six different teams in it next season.) TBH, I'm not entirely comfortable with tweaking a strategy by filtering leagues - it feels a bit too much like curve fitting. To my mind, the current season's stats ought to be a much better guide; it's just a question of picking the right ones!
Well done on the Seongnam game.
There are people who go back 5 or even 10 seasons looking at stats. Last season I just used the current season stats as I wouldn't trust the stats pre-covid. I like looking at stats from previous seasons, but I don't think I let them cloud my judgement. I think at times you have to adapt to current trends and markets. Like we did with football trading during Covid and empty stadiums.
La Liga was poor last season because I think the competition was poor. The value and excitement was in the last Champions League spot and other European places. Great fun watching and trading Real Sociedad, Villarreal & Real Betis. Better value too

@Trevor-H And will you make any adjustments for the poorly performing leagues this season, or just treat it as swings and roundabouts?
Good question. I'm not sure. Firstly, I don't need those leagues. I could paper trade them or do a deep dive into the stats and see if there is something I'm missing. Sometimes we dismiss leagues when there is no need too. It could be individual teams under performing rather than the league itself.
When we have a back testing facility in football, then I'll have loads of stuff to look at. At the minute I'm happy making a living on Over 1.5 goals and SHG. I'm certainly in no rush

@Akiva-Anderson Out of interest, were there any leagues/markets in which you took a loss?
Championship & League Two weren't great. La Liga was quite bad last year.
Most profitable leagues were:
English Premier League
Israeli Premier League
Italy Serie A
France Ligue 1
Australia A-League
Germany Bundesliga
Germany Bundesliga II
Czech Fortuna League -
