Good news for city then, get that price up
==================================
**Man City to profit from Lavia clause
Romano has also confirmed that City inserted a sell-on clause when completing a deal with the Saints. That means that if Lavia moves to another club, the treble winners will receive a percentage of the sale.
According to Simon Bajkowski of the Manchester Evening News, the clause represents a total of 20 per cent of any sale.
With Southampton said to value the midfielder at £50 million, City would therefore receive £10 million if any sale is completed.*

I'm sure he will, price probably up to 60m now, did you lay Liverpool top 4?
I thought about you when I heard Caicedo had signed, thats the sort of thing that happens to me.I thought with him in your midfield you were a shoe in for the top 4.

Latest rumour on sky is that Caicedo might want to go to Chelsea instead!
This means Liverpool will have to bid again for Lavia. If I was the Southampton CEO, I'd hike the price up again!
-
@Gary-Calvert yeah just seen that.
It’s crazy money whoever gets him

@Dan-MacKinnon Crazy money for Caicedo. Seems very strange that Liverpool pulled out of the Bellingham deal so early and now they are paying more for Caicedo.
Brighton are the best run club in the world at the moment, Cucurella deal as well absolutely nuts prices! Imagine if they were playing for Norwich 30 million at best.
It's an approach clubs of our size (Palace, Norwich, etc.) would need to follow without risking everything or not being competitive. Brentford did something similar, but how long can it last? Palace have tried to find youth players to bring through the academy. Again, how long can that last before the big clubs just swoop in and start taking them?
Then again, it does help if you have a wealthy owner who's happy to build you a new stadium and give you £250m to spend on players.

@Ryan it has to go POP sooner or later!!!
It won't be the hard reset back to competitive football that we all want without massive intervention. The greedy 6 are too far gone now that they'll never allow it and any pop will just see them breakaway and do a Super League again.
Right now, Champions League teams make £300m more than the rest of the Premier League teams. Then add on increased sponsors, etc. how is it ever going to be truly competitive?

@Andy-Donnelly Was listening to a podcast that broke this down, all speculation but they were mentioning
Wages
Agent fees etc...Saying that's what breaks so many deals now.
They also mentioned which was interesting fans saying pay the extra 3-5m BUT thats actually 1% of the top teams turnovers. Thats massive when you think like that, with the interest rates that they are at now.
-
@Dan-MacKinnon It'll be hard to replace the guys they've lost! If Mitoma goes then WOW!
