@Akiva-Anderson I am actually looking forward to the new format, the old group stage was a bit tired, sometimes those last 2 games were a bit painful, bit of a drag.
The draw itself was underwhelming. A lot of it automated.
This is basically the ‘European Super League’ now. It’ll be harder for smaller teams to qualify.
I’ll happily give it a try. It’ll be good for trading I think.
That was exactly my thought. They've basically snuck a European Super League in without us noticing. It could be interesting. Backup keepers and fringe squad players won't get such a look in now that's for sure.
-
@Akiva-Anderson Yea I think it will be good for the trading to be fair.
It depends on the results they get on their home games the smaller teams, it's going to tough for the English teams - there's going to be like zero real training time in-between the games lol.

A friend of mine recently asked me "How do you know you're a successful trader; is it just sucessive profit"? I told him "Yes, that's pretty much it". I actually don't think I'm right. He asked me what I do each day and so I told him...
1: Gratitude: - When I open my eyes in the morning I say the Jewish prayer: 'I am thankful before you loving and enduring King, for you have mercifully restored my soul within me. Great is your faithfulness. Why? - It's a simple reminder that the world owes me nothing. If you want your luck to change you have to do it yourself. Not religious? No problem. I remember reading a self-help book years ago. It said you should start the day off saying 'Thank goodness I don't have tootache'. The principle is the same.
2: My Goal: - To make money (It's not my only goal, but we are talking about trading)! I look at the football fixtures and find a match or matches I want to watch. In the past I saw all football matches as opportunities. This led to overstaking and me losing money. I now look at the football fixtures and see them as a threat to my income. By doing this it has enabled me to do better risk management.
In the past I've always been good at seeing 'opportunities', but poor at seeing 'threats'. I've had to adjust. Take my SHG strategy; there may not be a SHG. That's certainly a possibility, but that is out of my control. What I am in control of is, how I execute the trade and how I react / or don't react to loss.
An example would be: The home team is losing 0-1 at HT. I'm in for a SHG. That goal comes in around the 60 minute mark. It's now 1-1. Do I go in again? I try not to, because then my strategy has changed. That would be a two SHG strategy! Of course it's an opportunity, but it is also a threat. I prefer to switch the match off and look for another trade.
Anyway, just a thought I was having!

Something I am thinking about today and would like the group's thoughts on.
When a new league gets added to the software, do you test it individually itself for your proven strategies or would you trade it if it popped up in your filters straight away?
I’ll maybe watch and look at the stats for a bit. I don’t have to trade everything on the software!
I’ll evaluate whether it’s an opportunity to make money or a threat to my balance

Wasn’t that champions league draw awful?!
Delighted Man City got Inter at Home, will try and get tickets for that
-
@Akiva-Anderson Whole thing sounds a bit weird but guess we'll see.

@Andy-Donnelly It's a good point, it plays into the downside element as well, I am thinking what if they don't do?
Whats got to happen for this trade to stay around this level?
Well by Xmas if Arsenal and Liverpool are pushing them it'll be close that'll work.
-
@Ryan I’m not convinced that the city charges will be solved this season. This is the first case related to FFP where a team hasn’t pleaded guilty. So can imagine if they are found guilty, that there will be an appeal and then a further court of arbitration appeal as well if needed
-
@Martin Thats what I mean, they've both pushed City in the last few years and been there or there abouts come May, but with the drop of the potential points for City could be huge.
Wouldn't also surprise me if they focused more on the champs league and rested players in the league.
-
Surely City is a value lay to win the league?
It's currently 2.56 to lay, the charges against them this year will come to roost and I cannot see the league relegating them etc... no chance of that but I think there will be a huge points deduction.
Even if they got 10 points for example they'd have not won the league in the last few seasons...
