So I’m trading Betgreen with small (£4) lay stakes; tonight was Sevilla v Espanyol. Sevilla, the favourites, took the lead on 22 minutes; so, as per the strategy rules, I cashed out making a £1.22 profit (I cashed-out a couple more times to even-out the profit across the home/away/draw outcomes, as you do). So it was a textbook Betgreen trade. When the game finished, I logged the game in my Profit & Loss sheet and went to cross reference my rolling profit against my Betfair balance (just to make sure they tallied-up); however, my Betfair balance was £2.70 higher than my P&L sheet, so I checked my settled bets on Betfair. Astonishingly, my cash out bets weren’t there! Only my initial lay of £4 (with a liability of £11.60) was showing, meaning I’d won the full £3.92 after commission. All very well having won more money and everything, but what if the game ended a draw! Has anyone ever experienced this before?

@tony-lee this is something to be a aware of and a bit of a pain in the backside! That said at least you know now, usually on Bet365 it says if they are checking on VAR.

@sean I checked it out with Betfair and you’re spot on! Unbelievable.

@ryan @Terry-Heller so I checked my betting history on Betfair and my in-play cash-out (after Sevilla’s opener) had been voided. I took this up with Betfair and they have confirmed that any matched bet on this game between 18:52:36 and 18:55:09 was voided due to the VAR check on the first goal. The frustrating this is, they took the decision to void these bets after the game had ended, and not in-play (after the VAR check was complete and the game had restarted as you would have expected). This means, without my knowledge, my whole liability was at risk and I could do nothing about it (and as per the Betgreen strategy, you would cash-out at 70 mins anyway only risking a fraction of it). Having looked, it does say in their T&Cs: 'Voiding of these bets may take place during the event or retrospectively once a game is completed.’ So if they decide to void a bet retrospectively after the game you literally have no control of your trade. The lesson I’ve learned here is not to cash-out until you’re sure the match has fully restarted after a goal! I know Betfair occasionally goes down on a busy match day, and that is annoying, but it's obviously something they’ve not intended to happen, whereas in this case, they’ve made a conscious decision to void matched bets after a game has finished, effectively taking the control out of their customers hands.

@terry-heller was voided. There was a VAR review just after it was matched, so Betfair probably forgot to suspend the market then so decided to just void bets placed then is my guess

Have you checked your Betting History on Betfair they have drop downs for Cancelled Voided Matched Settled Lapsed.
See if it appears under any of them and it might be thee first clue as to what has happened.

@tony-lee Happened to me as well on that match. BFBM showed that it had placed a matched closing Back bet, but in my Betfair transactions, only the Lay was there.

@tony-lee Thats interesting, it sounds like for some reason the back bet didn't get taken?
