FootbLL Back testing data

Hi All, I'm new here. Is there a date set for the football back testing data (same as the racing data) to test a strategy?
Thank you. -
That is great input and information.
See the free option works very well.Cheers

@Alex-Rendell no keep an eye on your emails in the coming days and I'm guessing we will do a post in here don't worry. It's not backtesting related.
-
@Alex-Rendell been working on something big this past year which will be revealed on later this week so football backtesting has taken a bit longer but it's in the final stages before beta testing, if you are interested in beta testing we will be sending out a message about that hopefully early next year. Again no hard dates on it.

@Adam hi Adam, just wondering if the football back-testing was remotely close to being ready yet? I know you’ve been asked this an awful lot but I signed up for a full year last November, fully expecting it to be released imminently and here I am, 350-odd days later in the exact same position as I was then! Appreciate it’s a mammoth task but a rough idea on when it’ll be ready would really help me decide on what to do next in my trading journey. Thank you!
-
@Alex-Rendell Yes, we'll add as many market types as we can, bearing in mind that we'll initially need to populate the backtesting data from Betfair's historical data files, so they will need to be markets that are included in that.
-
@Alex-Rendell just wait and see it's going to be very in depth like the horse racing!
-
Hi @Adam - when the back-testing software arrives, will there be additional markets to the ones that already exist? Such as the first-half WDW markets and full-time BTTS markets, to allow us to add filters that incorporate the odds for these markets? Hope that makes sense!
Thanks.

@Dan-MacKinnon Haha, it's just so hard to be realistic. I feel bad every time I have to answer it and disappoint everyone
I know it's just because people are excited to get their hands on it though, which is great.

@Martin Do we have a date for the software yet?
As I have said many times now, we cannot provide a release date. We did that with the horse racing and it just led to frustration because unforeseen issues and delays come up with a huge project like this.
We will do a small invite-only beta test group before the full release and the full release date will depend on what comes up in that beta test.
Yes, yes. But when is the release date?
At my new work I've got a project manager that asks me questions like that. "Stop avoiding the question, can you give me a release date? I won't hold you to it I just want to know [so I can tell everyone that will be the date]. This is between us [and everyone else I will tell it to]."
(Just to clarify that wasn't a dig at anyone here, I've just had a 2 hour meeting of being asked to commit to something I just don't know so funny to see it happening to someone else!)

@Martin If say you back test home team under 2.5, what time is taken, at kick off, 1 minute before etc. Thats what i mean
We store the entire price history for each match at 1 second intervals and you tell the software your price and time criteria. We then figure out what price you would have got at that time, based on the traded prices in the life of the market.
